Great! You could cover all the sides/edges with weather stripping/ weathering strip to maximize the protection of your trucks panels and seats and to minimize rattles.

@@Tiny-CampersI love it! I truly think you can overcome and issue be it short on space,width,height and now what initially looks like you would have to curl up like a snake to sleep on that angle,you made a perfectly straight,flat and more than adequate bed 🎉 just brilliant.

Oh very creative solution! Love it! I don’t like tents for sleeping, either. This really helps folks like me that have limited space to build and store things. Have to work with what ya got. Now with a little build I can use our extended cab, 6’ bed Ranger! @70” diagonal. We don’t have a cap, only a tonneau cover, and little space to store things(townhouse) so this works so I can use the Ranger boon-docking! I have been using my Prius, ok for one person, but there is no room for much if you have to carry anything like sports equipment, let alone your basic needs for food, cooler, clothes, bedding. My husband can sleep under the tonneau cover(breathing is overrated )or underneath the truck😂 and me in the cab. Plenty of room with truck. Any ideas for a non tent cover on the bed of the truck that are easier than using a cap? Hard to remove and store. You seem to solve difficult problems😀.

Non tent no cap will be a tough order. Haha.

I was curious about the rigidity of your platform after you cut it in half and installed the hinge. You could install a couple of simple slide bolt latches to beef it up.
@Tiny-Campers11 ай бұрын
both sides are firmly resting on the arm rest. There were no issues. You do have to make sure your supports treat the board like 2 separate pieces.

That makes sense.

I'm glad you thought about protecting your ever so fragile Maverick plastics. I'm too lazy to go out and see in my Maverick, but can you lean the front seat back further if you lift up the backseat?
@Tiny-Campers Жыл бұрын
Seats up and back as far as they can go. Lifting backseat will not change anything

How much space is there from under the glove box to behind the back seat if the front passenger seat and back seat were removed? I’m 6’2 and thinking about getting one of these and removed the seats
@Tiny-Campers8 күн бұрын
Not even enough for a 5'8" guy. I don't remember the number. But part of the problem is the back is higher than the floor. So even if you remove both seats, you are not level with the lowest leg room area

Is your Maverick a hybrid ? Hot nights would be challenging to sleep in the cab without AC or a fan. Sketchy, wasteful and dangerous ( CO risk ) to sleep in a truck with a running engine all night, but I am believe the hybrid could run the AC on battery and cycles engine automatically when battery gets low. I just don’t know how often it would cycle.
@Tiny-Campers Жыл бұрын
I have napped in my hybrid Maverick a few times with the AC on. It is great! Motor triggers when battery is low. Great low cost cooling. I have no fears about CO risk (unless you try this in a garage).
@davec6016 Жыл бұрын
How hot was it ? Can you guesstimate what percentage of time engine was running ?
@Tiny-Campers Жыл бұрын
@davec6016 not hot at all . AC runs great in idle. Maybe every 10 min the engine fires? Just a guess
