The LGBT sandwich from M&S was huge in 2019 on Twitter as another of those “well-meaning yet out-of-touch corporate Pride” products (although knowing the proceeds went to charity it might not have been as out-of-touch as Twitter had us believe). I wondered what the definition of guacamole was on Wikipedia. For fun I looked in other languages. The French one made me laugh, cause it so typical French. Academic and interested in food. And it’s clear that guacamole is definitely not smashed avocados. Au contraire! English avocado based sauce Dutch avocado mousse German: avocado dip French :Mixing as defined by Mexican cuisine listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage is made from avocado, fresh chili, fresh cilantro, onions, tomatoes, lime or lemon juice, salt. The specificity of guacamole also lies in the fact that it does not contain herbs. The avocado is crushed, not mashed.

Crispy ants or something. 3:15 Small protein adding an S, snails (seems rather odd taste and texture wise...). Some kind of toasted seed would probably work well texture and taste wise if some seed is considered a "protein", som maybe its "sunflower seeds" or just "seeds"?
@SteinGauslaaStrindhaug9 ай бұрын
4:50 I assume the avocado thing they're too British to understand is Guacamole... (Though in my mind that is a kind of dish not an ingredient, since it's not simply smashed avocado but also some herbs and spices like garlic, paprika, chilli, often coriander leaves (cilantro), and lemon juice and or sourcream or yoghurt (anything decently acidic will work to prevent browning actually). But I know Americans recipes often treat a lot of ready made stuff as "ingredients", so assuming this Levitt guy is American, he'd probably think that "guacamole" is an "ingredient".) If so, we have BLTGx where x is some other ingredient, presumably a vowel to make a word.... But I can't think of anything that makes a sensible word with those letters. Unless theres another thing with H making it "blight" but that's a terrible name for a sandwich.
@SteinGauslaaStrindhaug9 ай бұрын
5:20 Some other kind of egg... Caviar (roe a.k.a fish eggs) might work taste wise... but that either adds a C or an R, so unless there's another word for "mashed avocado" that also starts with a vowel, it's a no vowel acronym which is not very catchy. If it's actually avocado anyway, it could be BLART but that sounds rather silly

Lol, to be fair... LGBTQ(IA+) _is_ a terrible acronym. We have the same acronym in Norwegian too, with a couple of letters swapped to match Norwegian words; but I don't even remember that acronym without first expanding the English one and translate it and then re-shorten it first. I personally much prefer just "queer" (or "skeiv" in Norwegian, which literally translates to "skewed") as an umbrella term rather than the alphabet salad.
