Not really. Squint is more, the actual smile is deeper. And usually if someone is faking there will be a facial tick unless they have practice. There is almost always a give unless they are an experienced liar.

I feel like, especially with the first two, you can spot the fakes based on the level of enthusiasm. They seem much more enthusiastic with the real smiles than the fakes. You can see in the real smiles that their smiles are bigger, wider, and take up more of their face. I think this raises your cheekbones, causing you to squint, which causes the eye creases we see (It's just a theory, not a doctor). In a similar vein, if you want to fake a smile, widen the smile, raise your cheekbones a little, and squint. Makes it much more convincing than just using your mouth. Watch some funny videos and when you laugh, try to feel what kind of muscles are moving, that should give you an indicator of what should be moving.

Although I agree 100% on the eyes, it's also in the mouth - fake smiles are a lot more tense in the muscles around the mouth then genuine smiles. I recall hearing someone say that fake smiles pull to the side because it's a concentrated effort, whereas genuine smiles pull up as a subconscious action.

I’m honestly not trying to fish for compliments or support, but I thought I should at least say something about this matter. I learned this trick a couple of years ago. I don’t have a bad life or anything. It’s not boring either, but I just always felt empty inside; like something was missing. Realizing this, I started viewing the world negatively, trying to look for something to fill the void. I guess that was my turning point in life when I realized that I couldn’t find the reason why I always felt alone. When I heard about the trick for perfecting a fake smile, I started to use it to hide my emptiness. It works pretty well, since nobody realized anything was wrong. I still use this trick in my life daily, and me faking a smile for all these years actually lead me to some form happiness, since I forced myself to accept this void instead of reject it. Though, quite a lot of people do say that my laugh sounds fake, but I guess I’ve laughed like that for so long, that people just see it as my natural laugh now. Everyone handles situations differently, and I guess this was just the best option for me. My life is going pretty good so far, and I believe if I keep searching for that missing piece, I’ll eventually find it. :)

That twinkle is actually just the light hitting their eye making it shine, it only shows because they have their eye more open, if you keep a neutral face but angle your face a tiny up, the shine will appear
