After watching it without toast and syd's reactions, it was pretty believable to me that he could fit in, it's just that in this video, their reactions made me think the guy was forcing it too much when he actually wasn't. As someone said in the original video, they managed to find the most black white guy out there for this

What I really like about this clip is that it also greatly demonstrates racial bias. Toast and Syd pointing out that he might be putting up a voice, that the problem/story of “Milk” wasn’t as heartfelt of an issue. But those things are all part of who they were. He’s been through the system, his story rings true to him, what he talks about seems to be who he is but it feels like their person is a persona simply because we don’t know the context.
