@@dmdltz843 Yeah, a lot of the Expeditions are excellent & definitely much better than the Navigators overall. But in a world of almost all unreliable & all complete garbage money pit luxury SUV’s, the Navigators are actually very reliable despite all the computer crap, that’s really their own main flaw. But you really can’t go wrong with either an Expedition or Navigator compared to other garbage luxury SUV’s such as Cadillac Escalade, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes M Class, Audi Q3/Q5/Q7, BMW X3/X5 or Land/Range Rover.

Pre 2005 ford trucks(and suvs based on them) actually were usually pretty reliable trucks drivetrain wise anyway. The interiors and body plastics don't always survive that great, but the drivetrains typically run well past 200k miles with basic maintenance every once in a while. Now post 2006 Ford's truck aint worth wasting any money on at all IMHO.

BigBing1987 just surpassed 250,000 miles on my ecoboost truck. I'd say that pretty reliable. @@SoLDMG Quite a lot of people need a car for work reasons in dispersed areas where there is not much (or any) public transport. The problem is the jobs often don't pay well and many prospective carbuyers on a very tight budget just do not have the knowledge to know which old cars are a sensible choice, reliable and not going to bankrupt them. I know this is an old comment but yeah im impressed with older fords. Especially since most had v6's while chevy was still using mostly v8s. Was cool you could get the same mileage out of a ford v6 as a v8 suburban. I know the excursions around this time last like 500k miles. I was only born in 97 but its so funny how people back when i was a kid would say "ford is trash". I really dont know where that notion came from. Even in other countries looking over here. I think it's because there were some crappy cars in their lineup throughout the years but generally they were pretty reliable. American's don't take care of their cars as well as others do in general as well. Honestly ford even nowadays is "decent" vs the competition. Definitly the most reliable American brand at least. Their ecoboosts can last 250-300k which is impressive for tubrocharged engines.

Fun fact. When the Lincoln AVIATOR (built on Explorer platform) came out in 2004' it came with a 4.6 liter 302 horsepower V8. My wife has one and even with 175K' it is still a very nice SUV. Except for the roughly 12 MPG her heavy foot gets lol. But that road gripping AWD with all the buttons will haul ass in a hurry! Great vid!

Still driving my 2005 navigator. It has nearly 300k miles never garage kept I live in the north east, and the only rust was the panels( which was fixed by some welding). I also got rid of the air suspension (it went out) but I love it. I even have a new 2017 (well now used) navigator and I often find myself driving my older one more so than the newer one. (Mostly bc my son likes the drop down tv opposed to the head rest TV). But yeah old navigators still possesses more features than newer cars (no Lie). I will never own another SUV! Back in 2011 I bought a 1998 Buick Park Avenue Base model for my 100 round trip mile commute, My wife complained about little things on that car like the seat belts, dug into her neck and you could only pull the seat belt out slowly because the mechanical retractor would lock if pulled out quickly. I drove that car for 175,000 miles and when I retired I sold the car. When I sold the car and signed off the title I just handed all the money to the wife. First she said to me was she like the car. For seven years all she did was complain about that car. She said the luxury of the car was what she liked.
