Im a collector but also love the investment side of the hobby. I personally truly believe in the growth and expansion of Pokemon into the future. Personally, I collect mainly sealed booster boxes and ETBs, with an exception for a lot of sealed 151 products I have as well. My singles collection is crazy but that's the collector in me ripping packs sometimes getting good pulls, and buying the rest that I want for ny collection.

@@themobbdeep66 great strategy to have! I agree pokemon will continue to grow, i doubt it will really go anywhere considering more and more people get exposed to it everyday. My singles collection hasn’t really been my focus but I love ripping packs, have pulled some heat for sure haha but sealed is the way to go if looking at it for future sales. Interested to see where some of these sets end up!

Treating pokemon cards like the stock market will slowly collapse it. Right now investors buy from investors. Normal people aren't buying chilling reign for 220 for the most part. Everyone thinks that things will just keep going up but until 2020 nothing was worth much regardless of how old it was. Now all of a sudden everyone is an investing expert based on a few years of data. For something to be worth money down the road there needs to be more buyers than sellers. Right now there are only buyers propping up the prices. Those buys don't become sellers down the road. In the meantime people looking to get into the hobby have a huge hurdle to entry into the hobby. Parents aren't camping at target to get cards at a decent price. The market is booming because people that collected as kids are getting that nostalgia feeling and have disposable income. If we don't keep that train alive then cards won't have new people looking for it later since they didn't have access in the first place. There is a limit to how much investing can be beneficial to the hobby and I think we are way past a healthy level.

A lot of people are looking for short term flips. I think scarlet and violet is the best era which is why I’m holding for long and long. Some I can sell in 2 years but 10 years later it will be sought after

@edboss36 you're exactly correct. All the older people 30-35 or so coming back into the hobby now are collecting with their kids, ripping with their kids, kids playing the Scarlet and Violet games etc. These kids will grow up in 10-20 years and likely come back to the hobby remembering the times they would rip packs in 2024. Pokemon has the cheat code for a never ending cycle of growth. Yeah, it will have downs too from time to time but given the history it will always bounce back with a boom.

Investors buy boosters. Children buy packs and tins. The hobby isn't going anywhere. There are expensive items for collectors and inexpensive items for kids.

Love the video man. I agree on the future of booster box prices. I think the best play, depending on the set and the promos included, will be Pokemon Center ETBS. I think the Stellar Crown Pokemon Center ETB is a great buy at the moment (I am in the UK so unsure about stock in Canada or the U.S.). Good luck on reaching 4k subs!

is it worth picking up Paldean fates or CZ etb's to open or sealed better at this time or even both etb ? Looks like both are getting harder to find in store.

Youre right both are getting harder to find, I'd probably keep both of those sealed at this point, especially crown zenith, It's fun to open but the price has been rising and i feel it may continue. Still one of my favorite sets tho and a fun one to open if you are not worried about investing in sealed

i've just been buying ex boxes that have packs for less than $5 since everything started going up. I'll only buy if the price is good.

I think we’ll see a lot of FOMO buys, people need to be aware of the market and the value of products before diving in. Just be patient and you’ll find deals. I dont have a ton money at play either but I’ll still patiently make plays on good deals when I find em. Thanks for checking out the video! Hopefully you stick around for future content!!

Happy 1st Anniversary Trevor! Thank you for putting out great contents and information to the Pokémon community. Onwards to 4K. 👍 I agree with you as supply dwindles and prices finally catches up to a more realistic price levels, it will be harder for short term investors to make decent gains after fees, shipping, and taxes. Pokémon investing, like in any investing is geared towards long term. As 2024 comes into a close, I am going to allocate less discretionary funds into the Pokémon space; as I am gearing down on what sealed products to buy and hold. Up to now, I have been actively buying booster boxes, ETBs, 3 packs, sleeved packs, and single pack blisters. With Surging Sparks, I took out ETBs. Going into 2025, I will be taking out single pack blisters and just focus on Booster boxes, 3 packs, and sleeved packs. For collection boxes, probably just the UPCs and some odd premium collections. I will need to streamline my investing.

Solid plan going into 2025, I’ve slowed down heavily on etbs unless I find a steal of a deal in my eyes, still think PC etbs will be great but have a feeling Pokémon company might catch on and start printing more since demand is way up on them! Booster boxes and 3 packs are real good and any collection box that has an “alternate” promo cards or some banger packs is smart, I think that shrouded fable greninja is solid, those eeveelution boxes and that arceus box from SWSH was great too! Hopefully more like that in 2025!
