So basically, if you want to be a solo dev... 1 - Be prepared to do a lot of work. 2 - Be prepared to spend much time alone. 3 - And be prepared to fail a LOT. Because when one takes the path of the solo dev... *Nobody will be there to hear your screams* Ok but in all seriousness, you gotta come mentally prepped to succeed as a solo dev. This is coming from a solo dev who hasn't even developed anything yet. I'm telling you, It hurts to spend hours learning and getting it all wrong. I'm also concerned about the future of my carreer, since there's always a chance someone might steal my idea and make it more popular. I won't give up tho, gotta get that dream game out there, no matter the cost.

As a solo developer myself. I can confirm, it is probably better to work solo. Yes, it does take more time, but it feels more of an accomplishment to be able to do something all on your own. It's also good as you don't need to pay robux, and you can actually work towards your very own ideas. The problem with a team is that they will always do it differently from your own idea.

As a person that wants to be a roblox solo dev, i think it is great to be one. You always keep your change, and you can decide what to do with it. You decide when things will keep going and when you are gonna do specific stuff. Also, the stress and anger is smaller as a solo dev, you don't have to worry about your co-workers not being active or them doing something in 30 seconds and saying it is good. And like other said, it is good to see your own game be succesful with the thought of your mind, that it is all yours.

My partner often lacks the motivation to do the building, but she has a lot of good visual ideas for how something is supposed to look. She does take over most of the paperwork management, though. I'd rather being alone than being betrayed. I'd rather sacrifice most of my time learning to script than just doing nothing. I'd rather chase down my dream than just imagining/fantasizing as if I've reached my dream. Actually, it's up to you. But you might wanna reconsider about creating a development team. Because you don't know what is behind those developer's face. Sometimes they'll just betray you by deleting your game, or even worse than that. But at the same time you might wanna reconsider about being a solo developer. Because you will need to prepare: 1. Mental preparation 2. Prepare to drown in a puddle of failure. 3. Prepare to spend your time alone without anyone accompanying you. 4. Prepare to multi-task. 5. Prepare to do a lot of work. 6. Prepare to be frustrated. 7. Learn to be creative. If you want to create a development team... You will have to prepare: 1. Prepare to be betrayed (Betrayal cases is pretty rare, but just in case, be prepared.) 2. Learn to listen properly. 3. If you own the development team, prepare your robux, because some of them want to be paid. 4. Learn to listen properly. 5. Learn to be creative. Creativity is neccesary for a team I'm not forbidding you to become a solo developer or having a developer team. I'm just telling you what you got to be prepared with. My suggestion is, you make a development team, but ONLY with those who you trust the most. My self has been betrayed. When you took the solo developer path... *No one will be there to hear your screams or voice.*

As a solo dev for a year I gotta say it won't be easy, no one will be there to help you finish projects so you will lose sleep if you're trying to finish something fast. Sleep deprivation is just one thing that happens, You will be completely focused on this game Your extroverted life will be dead, you can try to balance your dev life with your irl life but it will slow down your projects exponentially. You will soon just be alone in your room scripting away, screaming for someone to help you when you keep failing, losing hope but trying again until you get it right. A solo dev life sucks. But there's some ups 1.) You won't risk people stealing your ideas. 2.) You won't get into arguments with people and they leak everything. 3.) It'll help you learn to become a better dev faster. Honestly there aren't many ups but hey go ahead and try it. With my experience I fail a lot but I keep trying so I lose A LOT of sleep. My tips; Sleep, no matter what sleeping is essential for your body. Plan what you'll do, planning will help you get things done faster. Do daily test with your game to make sure a script isn't wrong. This will help you in the future if you can't find what's wrong with all the scripts. Ask for help, it isn't shameful to go to the dev website and ask for help, it will help you Soo much! Okay solo dev, I wish you good luck with your adventure!

HttpService is basically a gateway to APIs. There are tutorials on KZbin about APIs and got the same commands as in roblox. If you are too lazy I'm going to try to explain to you: Is basically a web that got information, but information that you can't see, because it is written in json. That's why all programs can't use them, but roblox can. Inside that API you can do categories, for example User: no Date: ah Gender: cybertruck And it is on a web page. So you can get this info with a special command (I'm very lazy to remember lol) and also you can write with another special command. I recommend you to see the roblox dev hub to see all comands

He was so disturbed about his dev friend betraying him. Naturally I dont trust anyone fast. Also if you work alone you get much more profit. I also motivate myself with a phrase: "I am for things so big that they are bigger than my fear of failing". Also if you take a reference of another game, don't try to copy it. you can be specialized in more than one thing, sure it's harder to learn but it's more fun knowing you have all of those abilities, like how i'm good at terrain building, 3d modeling, and scripting. it's also nice to know what's going on in your game, per say if you didn't know how to script and someone helped you with that, and all the sudden when you're about to publish a game a syntax error pops up, you wouldn't know what that is if you don't script, but it's something you missed, like a comma, now you can't publish your game and you have to ask the scripters to once again fix it.

After that you have to write the story and detail of your game, you have to write it i guess, build your game with your 3d modeling knowledge, after the game map has done, its time for you to learn lua language that used to roblox studio scripting. Now you must learn how roblox studio work and then finish your game as your idea its ok to be solo when you are begginer. If you wanna team up make sure that you already have experience .

There is too much pride and greed. The first person I worked with said he can code. Then it turns out that he only learned code in grade school with language that no one heard of. You ask them a question about code, he just froze. The second person(s) I worked with are artists, forced their way into me making me paid for their service which is absolutely pathetic. I was curious as to what they can do, so I play along. First thing they mention is how they want to get paid. They got the guts to ask for 2% of group funding. Second thing they mention how good they are when they don't even have a portfolio. Once the work is in progress. They refuse to correct their work and have the balls once again to ask for more money than what is agreed upon as if they are entitled to be paid just because you put 2 colors on a canvas.

What I have done for example is just sub-contract people to do the work for me so that I’m the end I can keep all the money. (For example, I pay for a builder to do a build and someone for graphics, after I pay them I still have 100% of my game revenue. It’s just a bit more upfront, but worth it in the long run)

@cardboardcoder93284 жыл бұрын
Other devs that are working on the game with you, basically if somebody is composing music you have to wait for them to actually make the music before you can put it in the game, or if somebody is building a map for the game you have to wait until it's built until you can put it into the game.

I solo develop, I do all the programming, I dont like other ppl touching my code. The thing I cant do good is building so I commissioned some builders to get a model, but thats pretty much it, i try to build myself but I am careful bc I am trying to make higher quality of a game building wise, so I dont like to interfere that much.❤ However! It is true that I own a studio with many amazing people and I have some friends that build, so i pay them when they make anything for me, but in studio I am alone and thats defo my vibe when I dont need to work alongside anyone on the same thing❤❤

The biggest problem I have is that I only know like 5% of the Roblox Lua Scripting language. I'm unable to script at all. I can only do simple Scripts such as the basic print script, some variables, etc. None of that Advanced stuff. Too much to learn. I'd most likely end up forgetting most stuff since I have short term memory.

I already knew the answer from the start, But if you don't know how to do GFX or Animating you can easily just hire someone (some people dont even charge alot and and some gfx artists/animators only charge from like 250-500 robux and they are extremely good)
