To avoid the yacht sinking orcas in the Bay of Biscay we decided to take our blue water sailing yachts through mainland Europe via the French Inland Waterways (VNF). It was an adventure of a lifetime but it would turn out to be a lot harder than we expected.
In this, the FIFTH episode of the series, we enter the CANAL DU LOING for the first time. This canal takes us from Champagne-sur-Seine to Montargis, a route that ends up being quite the adventure for the OYZ team!

Get some tires and a scaffolding board on both sides of your boats, maybe doesn't look good but very handy protecting your boats.

So interesting. Sailing Ruby Rose did this before they became a dull bourgeoisie channel. I remember draught… especially when mooring and weed (not the good kind) were the big issues. I assume you made it to the Med a long time ago and are not stuck somewhere.

Looks like a great adventure which makes for an interesting watch. Assuming you're heading for the Med, be a bit careful about flag etiquette. It looks like you're flying the cross of St. George on one of the yachts, instead of the correct Red Ensign. The former is an admiral's flag, the flying of which could potentially attract adverse attention, or possibly even a fine in some jurisdictions.
