I know that feeling seeing a car from your past. it's like meeting an old friend again. I remember the Buick that was used the day i was christened/baptized in the summer of '92. A red '68 Skylark that belonged to my sister's godfather's family and my dad knew them since his childhood. Before the godfather became the owner it, his mother-in-law was the owner before. Fast forward some years; Godfather sold the Skylark, much to his dismay and in '16 he passed away. The family painted his coffin/casket glossy-red like the Skylark he cherished. About a year or two later we discovered that the Skylark is still alive, now repainted gun-metal metallic and fitted with muscle-car custom wheels and with a beefy GM big-block under the hood. Don't rembember if it's a Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, Olds or Pontiac big-block, but definitely could lay some rubber. The former red Skylark is now a road-warrior Skylark

Great video of the trip, but you need to buckle up your lap and shoulder belts. As 16 year old in the mid 70s I had a 1970 Buick Electra to drive. My routine was to get in, turn the ignition, push in the lighter, buckle up both the lap and shoulder belts, light a cigarette and the drive off. Fast forward a couple of years and one night a drunk driver in a Chevy Suburban hit me head on. Because of the size and quality of the Electra, along with wearing both the lap and shoulder belts, I walked away with only cuts and scratches and bruises from the belts. The unbelted drunk driver had massive head and chest injuries from the steering wheel and the passenger went through the windshield and had serious injuries. A 1970 Electra with seat belts, a 1980 Suburban without seat belts- I walked away and they didn't.

Your car turned out pretty nice. Never knew they had those turbo Rust oleum cans like that. I might try some of those on my beater/driver. I was surprised you were able to cut and buff that out so soon. Every Rust oleum paint I've ever used took FOREVER to dry.

thank you. this was my first time using the turbo cans so it was weird at first but yea, tell me about it, i painted a set of louvres with rustolium and after 3 days of baking in the july sun, they still didnt dry,,, i think i got lucky because there was no humidity in the air.

@@UsefulEntertainment I think that helps a lot, the humidity level. Those turbo cans had a really nice wide fan to them. I've used the big 'professional' cans on wheels before and they came out nice after they finally dried. It is pretty good quality paint.

In the little city of Stamford, we’d go up to the clubs there in my teens through twenties to drink and dance. Also was the spa, at the time my friend had his mechanic shop, he did honest work at an honest price and that’s the plug, happy customers tell him everything. Table shower, then sauna, always heard from friends about bachelor parties going there.

i heard twin face east had an all you can drink buffet for $10 back in the 80s, also there was a place in Norwalk called the dial tone that had phones at every table so you could call the other tables. @@harrysatin5110
