transparencies that are not ment for inkjet (but laser) actually work even better for this, because the surface doesnt cause the ink to start curing. just be carefull not to touch the print, because it will smear. this also makes the transparencies re-usable after a quick wipe. the difference isnt as dramatic for dye based, water soluable inks, most common in cheap consumer printers. but pigmented inks, like in any printer using the HP 950 printhead and carts, will cure almost instantly on a suitably porous surface, and become waterproof. PS: used officejet pros are an awesome deal, for a really high quality machines, and the carts are really easy to refill. super fast and cheap, borderless printing, perfect for creatively messing around.

@@NitsaCreativeStudio I got a Samsung (HP) black and white laser printer second hand: it only cost me fourty euros and I got a new toner with it as well. I also developed a couple of new methods for medium transfer that I use for preparing linocut plates - and with an inkjet printer - and I use standard PVA wood glue combined with label paper to do it which you can basically buy anywhere. I developed these last week and they were certainly influenced by you. I wish you the best of luck with your new book and I will certainly consider buying it.

Very nice artful techniques and effects. I am going to try it on fabric. You've probably done that too! I want to make a remembrance keepsake piece of a friend's horse, now galloping in heaven. The rustic look of the transfer would be well suited for this. I bought a heart-shaped wood block at a thrift store. If it turns out I will post a pic before I gift it!

No, it's not waterproofed, but if you want it to last, it's a good idea to coat it with a clear finish that is moisture resistant and gives it UV protection.

Hmm, if transferring from transparency to paper, why not just print onto the paper directly?
@NitsaCreativeStudio2 жыл бұрын
1. It doesn't look the same at all, you have to see and feel in person to understand. 2. You can transfer to papers with different textures and sizes that might not run through your printer (for example, I can't run nice watercolor paper through my low end printer without a paper jam) 3. you can print onto your journal pages, specialty cards, gift tags etc 👍
@DNos19893 ай бұрын
You can do the same, with better results, with baking paper. Just cut it in A4 size and put it in the printer!
@autummsun Жыл бұрын
What does it mean to print on the reverse ?
@NitsaCreativeStudio Жыл бұрын
Printing a mirror or reversed image meaning the image is printed backward so when you transfer the image it doesn't look the wrong way especially if you have text. Some printers have this feature.

why not just put the glossy paper n the printer?
@NitsaCreativeStudio Жыл бұрын
There are a couple of reasons; 1. If you just print your photo you won't get this special effect & unpredictable look that you can get with a transfer. 2. This is also a good solution if you want to print on an iregular size or shape paper or any other glossy surface that doesn't fit inside your printer.
