Great topic I have cubes that I 3d printed in my shrimp tank. I also have a floating sea mine that i weigh down with a rock from the hardscape but over time the chain links holding it down wore out so it free floats now

Good video, at 50% in pla it will definitely absorb and sink. How many walls did you use and what is the infill overlap you are using? Higher infill overlap is better at holding water in water features i have made without any leaks. I find tpu the best material for water but dont know how it would affect life
