Don't sell yourself short mike you have made great progress in the time that I have been watching. And I have done well to and I'm a 64 year old dude. Keep em coming.

Always appreciated Mike. As I probably said to you already, goal is to keep when I get to your age...Not saying your "old" but you're in the minority of your age group that's resistance training consistently.

Appreciated it Eric. Depends on the season you catch me and how much I can control my robust eating habits. We're in the thick of it now, so we'll see what happens come spring.

Your physique has continually progressed on this channel and you've never been injured that you mentioned. For max strength with no joint impact checkout the isochain claims of 50-100% strength gains using it I just got one

I got my basic sliding bench because of your videos, I wasn’t too sure about total gym but just having a cheap version I enjoy using this very much . And when I attach bands to it then it becomes even better

Thanks for sharing that Cap. Any version is a good version. Great to hear you're seeing progress with it.

When the pandemic hit I went to using the Total Gym and soon all my shoulder pain pain was gone and shoulder mobility improved drastically. After pandemic went back to the gym and shoulder pain came back. So now I only use the Total Gym for strength training and just use the gym for cardio. I think the Total gym is just a much safer way to exercise.

Awesome to hear Paul. I agree 100% with that.

TG, a power tower, some dumbells, and a squat rack is all you need. I recently got a barbell attachment for the TG and it's opened up the door to ever more exercises on this machine, love it!
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
You are right on that!
@tristanhnl Жыл бұрын
The answer is a resounding yes. I use nothing but a TG, and the gainz are coming 💪. Proper diet is key as well, of course.🥩

I have free weights. Don't use them often. Just wondering why do people believe only free weights work to get in shape? It really perturbs me lol! It's so ingrained now that free weights are the end all be all answer. I've used a few non free weight methods that worked better and just as well. Total gym being one of them. Thanks for the videos.

Amen to that. Thanks again for watching and for the comment.

You are right, these machines can get it done. I got one as addition to my gym just for variety and it gets used a lot. Three cables and two sets of rollers and still going strong.

Awesome to hear Jim. Definitely worth it like you mentioned to at least get it in addition to your home gym as a whole.

your physique is outstanding. If people doubt what a machine like the TG can do just watch your channel or the informercial. The results are real. I have had some myself. Just need to get my diet a bit more under control

Big stacks of metal weights are not the only way to gain. I think seeing more weight stacking on a machine is mental reinforcement that progress is being made and some people need or expect that. No harm in it. Like Bruce said, use what works.

I still use dumbbells for straight up over the head exercises to build shoulders. I don't use the Total gym for legs. I do calf raises, squats and ride a bike.

Personally I feel the Total Gym is an ideal piece of workout equipment particularly for those who live in an apartment for which doorway pull up bars just don't work and let's not forget the many benefits from this machine with the added benefit that it's a space saver.
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
100% You're right, if you have a small space, I think of better piece of equipment. But then again even if you have a large space, this is on the top of the list as well.

I've only subscribed to a few channels in my life, I subscribed to yours jist now in the hopes that you'll be able to help me stay on track with this. I just got my total gym this week. I like it so far. It feels like I can work out muscles with this that I couldn't possibly do at the gym. The thing I struggle with most, regarding exercise in general, is that I'm not sure what to do daily, for my lifestyle. What I'd like to do is have a routine every morning, where I work out for like 30 minutes as a way to start my day. Nothing too intense, but something that will be progress in the right direction. Have you ever put out like a good daily plan thing like this that works with the total gym? I'm sure your workout routine is much more intense than what I'm looking to do, but any suggestions you have on what will be best for a 30 minute thing every morning would be appreciated.

I have a question. Can you work your lower back on the total gym? Kind of like how you would work out your lower back doing deadlifts
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
You can check out this video I did awhile back where I go over some back strengthening exercises for the lower back kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4GZdK2ah5tpmJI but honestly nothing really directly comparable to deadlifts for more intensity.

What's your thoughts on a functional trainer vs a Total Gym? Space and portability aren't issues for me. Prices are similar. I feel there will be more resistance available on a functional trainer, and I like the option to stand during FT exercises. What say you?
@hybridresistance Жыл бұрын
I made a video awhile back talking about what machines I'd buy if I didn't have a TG and a functional trainer was on there. One of my favorite machines of all time was the freemotion trainer. I should make a direct comparison, but my initial reasons why I'd prefer a Total Gym would be they're more portable (so lighter too), more fun, quicker to transition to exercises on the fly. Also another reason people love these machines is because they are so easy on the joints and an viable option for people that have issues with back pain for instance with standing exercises.
@whiteknucklestormchasing Жыл бұрын
@@hybridresistance Shortly after my question I found your video. Free motion would be fantastic but very pricey. They aren't made as good these days. I'm looking at a Titan and a REP Fitness 5000 Functional trainers. They're around $2500. I like the TG FIT and the ability to train outside. I'd like to see TG incorporate a magnetic resistance system like is used on the Torque Fitness sleds. BTW, I recently contacted Coop and asked when he's going to review Sliding bench functional trainers. Awaiting reponse.
