In this video I will share with you my results on using foil quill pens with new Cricut Joy. This is very fun and easy project to do plus new tips and tricks on lining up the project where you want it to be caught or written or foiled. Thanks for the video, I purchased freestyle foil quil first to see how it heats up. Honestly, it doesn’t really heat up the outside of the pen, so I’m purchasing foil quil for my joy. I’m pretty sure now it will work with no issues.

@Auntie Bee’s Creations Thank you so much. 🤗 I did try in soft faux leather and it didn’t quite work great and I will include a video for you to see it but if you do it in harder faux leather it should work great. Stiffer faux leather will act like stiff paper and it will work better. Here is the video that I mentioned above. Foil Quill on fabric and Leather. Surprising results. You must SEE. Christine Nix Hi. Thank you for watching. The charger thing is “Halo Bolt” I purchased it from QVC.com but you can find it online in many more places. But you will need a newer version with the plug because older ones don’t have the plug. Hope this help.

The foil quill is taller the joy tool. You need to measure the joy tool and mark it on foil quill. I have that in the video somewhere. I think closer to middle of the video. It shows how to do it. Just look through the video and you will find it. After that if you place it correctly it should work.

This is a really cool idea - but please remind everyone that using the Foil Quill Pens can melt the pen holder and void the warranty - so you will need to USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Cricut Crazy Thank you for the info. I haven’t heard about that before. I will have to do some research on that. From my experience and I have been using it since it’s been lunched I never had it heat up to the melting point or even close to that. I don’t want to mislead anyone but I don’t want to spread anything without any research either.

I have heard that this will void your warranty with cricuit

Beverly S If you have to modify anything to use it in the machine it probably will void it. It was said that it’s going to void the warranty because people were plugging the foil quill pens into the USB on the side of the maker machine and that would heat up the machine or the port area. Cricut advertised that port to charge your device like iPad or a phone or whatever you use to plug-in into that port because they tested it out and it’s going to work, they did not test the foil Quill to be plugged in there but if you use a separate power bank or plug-in into your computer it should not affect the warranty. But you can always wait till your machine is out of warranty well it’s about a year unless you purchased more coverage and I’ve been using my foil Quill since it first came out on all of my machines my explore my maker and now this little one. It fits like a pen, it does not heat the housing where you would put the pen and it’s being used same as the pen so I don’t see why would it void the warranty but if you’re afraid just wait till your machine is out of warranty. But this is just my opinion you are the one who’s gonna have to make that choice. Hope this helps.
