I purchased a metal, We are memoire keepers metal mat that goes on top of the cricut mat. You use magnets to hold paper and foil down. Keeps foil very flat. And does not leave any missing spots when foil is transferred. Works perfectly. I purchased this mat from Joannes on clearance for $10

Thanks for the video. Have you considered changing the number of time the foil quill draws an image? That might make a difference.

Hi, thanks for the idea. I can try this but it does look like the foil of the design has been removed from the section of foil. I hope I've explained that - but when I hold the foil up the whole pattern seems to be removed so maybe it's dragged a bit and skipped and I need to try even harder to have the foil completely pond like smooth. Thanks for the tip though, I will give it a go :)

Leathers need hotness and pressure at the same time, therefore, do you think it is possible that the Foil Quill system can be used in the pressure holding of the machine? (I'm a bookbinder and so if I buy this I need it to simulate the hot foil stamping that we do on the books). Do you think that it can work on goat leather? Can you produce a stamping with 34 pt Times New Roman fonts? Thanks

There are handheld versions of the foil quills available now, including one with a calligraphy tip. You could use them freehand or use stencils.

No. One is transfered with heat and other is pressure so the foil you mentioned will not work properly with cricut

Hi, do you mean the scoring tool? It fits in clamp A and I don't think it would have enough pressure to apply the foil as it struggles to even score for me quite often. This foil tool has been designed to use in clamp B where enough pressure can be applied to transfer the foil from the sheet to the material below. The size of the tips mean the line transferred can be 3 different thicknesses. I hope this answers your question :)

There is a reason to let the WRMK Tips heat for 5 minute. The foil is a HEAT transfer and the warmer the tip the better the transfer. so the skipping was due to that. So not really a valid comparision.

Sorry I’m a bit confused as I always wait 5 minutes to preheat the tips of my We R Memory Keepers foil quill tips. I even put a timer on for this test. I’ll rewatch to make sure I make that clear in the video. Thanks for your feedback.

Using the WMRK foil quill will void your warranty if your Cricut machine is less than a year old.

I’ve read that silhouette has a pressure foil as well as cricut and they’re usually a touch cheaper.
