It works both ways. Most retail chains and established merchants have a scanner which is seamless. For smaller businesses, they use static QR codes which also works as well but you need to enter the transaction amount.

Yes, we are now in China and quite convenient to use. Some merchants we scan their QR Code while some smaller they can scan our QR Code. Normally those purchase with $ n sens we use the EWallet owise if use cash we get alot of small changes back

no. Touch N go is collaborating with Alipay. For other type of payment when the merchant is scanning your QR code, you go the normal "pay" page then swipe up to go to the china's QR code page

TNG only has MYR wallet. When you pay, it will convert for each transaction. You can view the exchange rate on the app before making the payment.

You can't transfer money from Alipay to TNG eWallet. To add funds to your eWallet, you can do it via credit/debit card or DuitNow QR.

Yup, if you roam, your internet is rerouted back to the home network. No issues accessing international sites and apps.

EDITED: Comparable money changer. At the moment, TNG eWallet is showing RM1 = CNY1.53577. A local Money Changer in KL is selling CNY100 = RM64.40, which is RM1 = CNY1.55279

TNG eWallet works at any Alipay merchant in China as well as any Alipay+ merchant worldwide. Touch 'n Go eWallet has DuitNow QR integration since 2021 and DuitNow direct transfer since 2022.

Roaming SIM recommended. We've not tried with local China SIM. It should work if your TNG eWallet app is accessible to the internet.

His SCAN got AliPay logo at bottom of phone screen. I just check there is none on my phone. This means only payment of AliPay QR is by Merchant Scanning our phone. So this video is misleading

We are using the same TNG eWallet app as Malaysia. If you're in China, it will automatically enable Alipay+ scanning. Similarly for showing QR code, it will automatically select Alipay+ and you don't need to swipe up.

@@soyacincautv You meant to say, TnG eWallet auto detect user's location. If outside Malaysia whether in China or Singapore or Thailand, TnG eWallet will auto enable scanning of AliPay QR code. This is a hidden features not many people are aware of. Thanks for your clarification 👍
