I remember someone making gravity-powered device with gears when battery charger was announced in the devblog. It essentially used lift's infinite power to lift massive weight, which would slowly descend, causing gears to rotate and generating torque that way It's pretty cool, I think you'll have fun trying to make something like that

Here's an easy to apply idea, in your own world, put the alternator on your truck, have it be rear wheel drive only, and connect the alternator to the front wheels, or experiment with the opposite layout maybe? 1 set of wheels will propel the car, and the other set of wheels will generate power.

And see if you can double them, so say you have a six wheel vehicle and 2 sets are powered. Or have the powered wheels be larger and the alternator connect to the small wheels so it spins nore

The wooden water wheel works for generating battery power, bit slow but no need for powering the bearing because the water does the work for you

I was just fooling around seeing if I couldn't set up kinetic traps for my farm and the bearing janked while I was spinning a metal 2 cross on the ground. I, for no good reason, decided, I'm going to walk into it to see if I can't nudge it back into place. It snapped back, yeeted me off the main land into the ocean, and my guy was doing a death spiral the entire time from this yeet. Like dart/football spiraling tornado dive bomb drill head spin. The worse part about all of it was I was so entertained and shocked at it happening that I forgot that once you hit respawn your stuff stays where you "quit". I had to build a boat and go out and get all of that stuff. But even though you're trying to do a moderately efficient idea for power generation, my best result has been a 4 "cylinder" piston engine on a heavy duty alternator. I think the heavy alternator does have a slight resistance and speed requirement increase, but it pays in dividends. You have to have it spin faster and harder, but it accumulates power faster than the compact one. Ask kAN how to do an effective Trammel Gear. You can up your gains using one or a few of those as they'll spin faster. The only down side is that they add more bits to the system so more things that can jank with each other and just simply not work.

@@altaem9152 They last indefinitely if you feed them or pick it up/ put them back once every now and then. I think within 30 in- game days. People have done experiments on just that.

Are there any suspension glitches that will always move nonstop after they are finished? Maybe something like that could create a free energy machine that moves without any engine or anything else creating force to move your contraption. Just a suspension glitch attached to alternator that makes a bearing spin all on its own.

True or a simple generator that powers itself but a lil bit of self sufficient energy as a run off spare that can be used for other things sure it will be slow but if you have the patience for it did something similar like this in tears of the kingdom for self powered machines if needed

just make the springglitch using a controller to set the angle. works well at 30´ . then have 2 running opposite ways spinning the bearing at twice the speed. it works but is still slower than a tier 5 controller at full speed with 4 powered bearings to power the generators, the controller option is cheaper and better. i used a single springglitch to power 6 large generators. its strong but slow.

Is there a particular reason you aren't just using a maxed out controller to turn 10 bearings and then add an 11th bearing that can be hooked up to a alternator... I'm doing that and it works perfectly, even with the big alternator. It generates like 1 battery every 2 minutes or so but you have to stay within render distance of it though

Hey, ive made a spinning thingy with 1 or 2 rhrusters mountet on it, works realy well on both alternators... just build it next to a oil pool i a desert, and use a setup to keep feeding it oil-->gasolin... i know its an expensive deal. But its works realy well (my base is near the same oil well

@@crustybomb115 I only just found the hand-tool recipes, but I haven't really used them because I have two collectors on my mining vehicle, of which is set up for both saw and drill; also, using the sawblade is faster than the handsaw from what I just saw, but I might use the handdrill because mining always sucks... The mining achievements do work in a vehicle, but kill quest do not, unfortunately...

I have an idea which sounds kinda stupid but also quite promising... Remember those NPCs in the Crashlander Mod? Y'know, like Bill and the other ones... I think, you could build a contraption for Bill to walk into and let him be trapped inside that contraption, basically move him to the roof with some sort of elevator, but once he's up there, the elevator moves back down and the only way he can leave the roof is by falling through a chute into a hamster wheel, where he keeps running around inside, powering some sort of gearbox that finally powers the alternator... and with that, you have your "free labor" which also makes those otherwise pretty useless NPCs finally useful..

Couple more fun console commands for you to try would be /noaggro (toggles getting agro'd by critters) and /fly. As the name suggests, that last one lets you fly around at a set speed. */fly 5* is the default speed, but */fly 100* is great for exploring the map. Type the same command again to toggle flight off. Since you're basically swimming in air, your oxygen _will_ be running out, so /god is also advised. Lastly, since you _are_ swimming, you can sprint-fly for about double the speed. Space/crouch to fly up and down respectively. Also I found a way to make a glitch-free generator that makes ~8 batteries for every 1 gas. Video's in the works on that one. Nowhere near as fun as renewable woc or glorb power though lol

The problem is you put a single AA battery in the remote for 2. You should try spawn 4 cows, put them in separate corners, and test it like that.

Wocs might not be able to "wake" a "sleeping" physics object. Meaning, it might need to be *in motion* before the Woc can apply force to it. Cause the Wocs definitely were applying force in some of the cases, but only after Kosmo had applied a little force and caused it to start simulating (ie wake).

Does the game allow non players to move objects? Not all games will do the physics interactions for that and will only allow the player to move thigns. This can make the game a lot faster by only doing physics on things interacting with the player. That could also be why it goes insane at times when you go to interact causing it to calculate the physics and have strange interactions with the animals.

this game does, its just that theyre not exactly good at it... mainly cuz of low speed if passive and just straight up hostile to your creations... or in the case of glowbugs, squished...

If you do the Battery Retrieval quest from Ivan, Be cautious... I'm not sure how it's supposed to work, But I'm now unable to complete that quest; Battery Disappeared after going into the HQ. Edit: Battery doesn't respawn at original location.

Controller and multiple bearings 360 repeating i do 6 and generate a battery every 50 seconds or so sometimes faster some times slower but its always running free energy.

I am creating a wall/ fence for my crops with Birtch tree seeds.... you can seed them about 1 or 2 block appart and even in shallow water.... when they grow you get a "tree wall" without any gaps....looks like a tree wall...hehehe I believe no wolf or bear can destroy trees....not sure for now, as wall still not complete....😂😂😂

Look up "how to enable dev mode scrap mechanic", then open the Scrap Mechanic wiki link that should be listed first. Enabling dev mode unlocks additional commands that can essentially put you in "creative" mode. PS - Sorry if you got a million replies, KZbin kept giving an error when I tried to link the page directly.

you just type in the same commands you do to get all the perks of creative in survival(which mostly boils down to knowing a few commands and thats about it). if youre really curious you can just look up the entire list of available commands for scrap mechanic and you can use them even in survival worlds.
