One thing we should all know is. IT DOES NOT HURT NIKE OR ADIDAS 99% OF THE TIME!!!!! The yeezys, and jordans they sell get sold out 100% OF THE TIME, paying resell HELPS RESELLERS, it does not help nike AT ALL. So if you get a rep of them, you are not hurting the brand, they already sold 100% of the stock, and made all the profit. so I am 100% okay with wearing reps, because resellers can EAT SH!T for ruining the sneaker culture.

However, I have absolutely dropped $170 on near 1:1 reps of said shoe, and comparing them to my recent retail pick-ups of AJ1's, they're not different enough to justify the price for the "real ones" at resale. I've actually had to return two pairs of RETAIL AJ1's to Nike for manufacturing defects because they looked TERRIBLE out of the box. Most "good" rep middlemen will send you pictures of the pair that you're buying to scrutinize first before they send them out, so you don't get non-symmetrical pairs or pairs with major visual defects, like I have with real Nike's.

Ive never bought reps but I think the trick to wearing UA reps is to buy reps that are mid hype and intigrate them into your fit in a more lowkey way. If youre wearing some off white or dior jordans and wear them with an black outfit for example theyre the first thing people are gonna look at and try to see if they're sus. Thinking about buying some shattered backboard reps tho cause ive always wanted them and no way i can reasonably afford them with the prices they are going for now lol.

I would wear dior Jordans with an all black outfit with no problem. If people ask me if they are real, I would simply say "no" and keep it pushing.

No one is gonna even be able to tell if your shoes are legit or not if you get a decent quality rep. On feet no way is anyone gonna be able to see if they’re fake or not.

Their quality is the same or sometimes even better. Most of them especially the big brands use sweatshops anyway.
@rodolfoo30152 жыл бұрын
The problem is the resell market. For example if I want a pair of Jordans I can't buy it from Nike due to bots, so if I want it I have to go to stock X a pay a premium plus a tax and more expensive shipping. A pair of shoes that should cost 100$ now cost 600$, and that's just stupid. When it comes to reps in a lot of cases you are buying from people that worked at Nike factories or other brands and can reproduce an 1 to 1 shoe for an affordable price.

a world where reps are standard everyday wear and authentics are collectors items makes more sense, is more affordable, looks better, is funner ect.

In many other industries, the "knockoff" manufacturers end up making products that are either objectively better than the originals because of the rapid speed of innovation without all the overhead a megacorporation has to go through, and/or are vastly better value per dollar that means that even if the original lasts longer, you can buy 3-10+ of the rep that combined will last far far longer and can be damaged/lost with far less worry and risk because you easily replace them.

if it’s high quality and cheap, then go for it, wear what you want fuck this anti-rep attitude, why pay a brand 100x what they paid a child slave in vietnam to make? it’s an insane classist attitude to think that these brands should be put on a pedestal and that they’re products are simply better because they tacked on their logo on it

Honestly it’s just clothes, not the biggest deal either way. So many people are trying to find ways to say “I’m better than you” that it just becomes ridiculous. Find a way to look how you want to look, if you even care enough to put that much thought into it and that’s the end of it for me. But I will say this, authentics tend to look better and have better construction “usually” so if that matters to you, that should be the determining factor in what you decide to get, along with your bank account. 😅

IDC, I love reps/UAs/option B’s/fakes. They’re a great option to get the shoe you want for less. I was just on /Repsneakers researching for TS x Frag 1 lows cause the silhouette and colorway IMO is gorgeous and I ain’t dropping $2,010 on StockX even though I got the money to do so. I don’t do it for hype, just to pull off great fits.

I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on apparel... so more people choose fashionable *amzclothes* . However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.

Personally I've always been on the fence about reps, but recently I got obsessed with Rick Dunks and wanting to own a pair. But, as everyone may know, getting a pair that doesn't look like it has been used in both world wars and that don't have cracked pissed soles resembling that of my dead aunt's ashy lips for a price that isn't lower than a downpayment on a house is practically impossible. So, I decided to get "1:1" reps. In instances like these I strongly feel like reps are a necessity because the secondary market can honestly suck my left nut when it comes to pricing of "grails". I get a never warn pair of dunks for $3-5k, but all these used pairs on grailed going for $2k+ (if you're lucky) is ludicrous man.
@antwyy37852 жыл бұрын
The only reason I personally buy real kicks (grail wise), is I find fantastic deals on stuff and know when I'm done enjoying them, the price is going up with time and I can make money. The best out of reach shoe here are the Newport "forces", which were a limited run "bootleg" that go for around $10-13k. But, if you were spotted wearing them, you wouldn't get the same looks as wearing a shoe in the same price range like the Jordan 1 Diors. Yet, reps for the Jordan 1s (and probably the Newports somewhere), are so good to where most people wouldn't care. Interesting!

honestly, price based everything is through the roof and going even further. if you dont have the money and as long as you dont try to sell them as authentic or if someone asks you if they are real and you dont claim them as real then who cares? it doesnt even hurt most companies, they still sell out all the time.
@trevor45332 жыл бұрын
Personally, if I don't cop for retail and I REALLY want the shoe, I'll go for a rep pair. Not interested in getting fleeced for hundreds by some greasy pasty boi running bots out of his mother's basement. However, I am pretty conflicted on reps for shoes that actually retailed for several hundreds, thousands. Dior 1s, Balenciagas, high end designer clothing, etc. I probably wouldn't buy anything like that, but I have zero issue with those that do, as long as they're not trying to scam you out of your money.

Honestly I don’t care if you wear reps, UA’s, etc. Stuff is too expensive to pay resell nowadays but if you buy reps like UA’s, don’t resell them as real and if someone asks if they’re reps, own up to it; like I’d imagine someone would be impressed that your UA’s are that good. Just my opinion. Shoutout r/repsneakers 😤

Walked into a hype sneaker shop wearing some rep Yeezys just to look around. That being said the owner of the place loved them and complimented me on them. I told him that they were reps because I don't want to spend the amount of money that the resold original sold for. He was legitimately amazed at the shoes quality even if it was a rep, and asked me to take it off so he could see it 👍 he seemed to agree the rep was fine 🤣
