Canada Day Fireworks over Ottawa River

In Canuckville, we celebrate Canada Day on July 1st, and Ottawa is the place to be. Downtown streets are closed to vehicles, and thousands of people party on the streets. This year, for the first time, I was determined to get front row seats for the fireworks, The place to be is on the Quebec side of the recently flooded Ottawa River, right next to the Alexandra Bridge. The best seats in the house, since the fireworks are launched off the bridge, at an estimated 60 degree angle, to the west, and the westerly breeze blows many of the ashes right back onto the bridge! By way of penance for my great enjoyment of the display, I’ll have to study GHG emissions from producing and firing off these type of displays. At least there were no army tanks in downtown Ottawa.

He’s getting the tanks alright, don’t know about the generals. Is our country broke yet? .... didn’t know about Canada day, that’s how ridiculously little I know about your great country. .... Since you mentioned you were gonna look into fireworks pollution, I had to look it up. And I’m shocked. Lots more particulates, GG emissions, metals used (mining), child labor, smoke...they are a perfect metaphor for what we’re doing to the planet in the name of entertainment.

@@markgigiel2722 I'm European and we have events in my country with army planes like Eurofighter Typhoon. People gather and enjoy the show... have no clue the hell you people smoke. It was an amazing show what Trump did, the B2 bomber is a sight to behold.

Toby Flenderson The noise was unbelievable, echoing off the river and bridge. I saw some radar signatures near Ottawa, but I think they were BBQ smoke related, and not from fireworks...
