In my personal opinion it’s always nice putting in socks as well as full body’s with the silhouettes. So when the geese go over they can still see the decoys. Silhouettes are cheap and work wonders!

OMG SOMEBODY FINALLY DID IT! do some research on how a duck or goose vision works. Really awesome perspective. NO TRAILER NEEDED. Y BOARDS MAKE SET UP AND ADJUSTMENT EVEN FASTER. I'll subscribe. you and Steve Nunz got the silhouette action figured out.

The shadows play big factor. I've experienced it first hand this hunting season that if its super overcast and they don't have shadows definitely avoid using just silos, but maybe having a 50/50 blend of FB or shells w them would work or even socks. But If all you have is silos and its pure overcast expect the geese to start to side drift away from the deeks as they get closer if they're higher than 35-40 yrds up. Seemed once they got inside of 70 yrds is when they would start to side skirt away from our deek spread.

Lot of haters on here. Surprising how many people on here have the money for 6-12 dozen full body goose decoys. (10 dozen silhouettes will run $600). Also, that have unfettered access to drive into every field. Never face plowing or muddy conditions that prevent driving in. Oh and probably havent hunted over silhouettes let alone large spreads of them. Quite hating on guys that are doing content to share what works for them and help you figure shit out.

Silos & wind socks by themselves dont work in my area for honkers, nor do any of the motion honker decoys. If we use them they are just for fillers. Fullbodys & lessers seem to be the only deeks or honkers will commit to, our honkers are very decoy shy. But nice video, I envy the guys that can get away with just using silos.

Thats why I keep several DSDs in the trailer now. And we have switched to Realgeese Silos for durability and realism.

I dont think a goose could tell the difference there pretty dumb but the thing geese don't like is presentation into the sunlight they don't really like approaching on the non shadow side of any decoy. So you would be hunting with the sun to your back. And coving up so that you are not visible from the sunny side is the key. I have noticed that geese hate moving from the sunny side into decoys. Where there shadows would be in frount of them. I think its a predator response.
@scottraymond239610 ай бұрын
In my experience, if they want to sit down they will , or they have some other destination in mind. Out of towners (migrators) will set on your decoys more rather than the locals. Unless all water is frozen, then just hungry

Been running my dive bombs and storing and transporting them in plastic totes trying to save a buck on bags... are the bags that divebomb makes worth 55 bucks or make the transport that much easier that it’s worth investing in them?
@Averageopportunity5 жыл бұрын
Honostely, it depends on how you get them where you are going. If you are driving or boating them to the location then I would say no. If you have any walks planned then they are worth every penny.

We can pack 5dz per hunter with gun and blind bag with the DB bags. I have 4 bags, but i know on most hunts they are not neccessary and they dont stand up as good as a plastic bin will.
