European countries, Canada, and others should reconsider their relationship with the United States, as it appears that the U.S. empire is on the verge of decline. Canada, in particular, should reassess its reliance on U.S. military equipment, including the cancellation of agreements such as the F-35 procurement. It’s essential for Canada to diversify its exports, seeking stronger economic ties with Europe, Russia, China, and other global players. Additionally, Canada should explore reducing its dependency on the U.S. dollar as the dominant reserve currency by increasing trade in Canadian dollars (CAD) and other currencies. By taking these steps, Canada would be better positioned to assert its independence and prioritize its own interests rather than being bound by policies that primarily serve U.S. interests

I really appreciate Trump's decision, which will wake up sleeping Canadians and make them understand what the consequences would be to rely your fate on a fake friend.

Trump often emphasizes the trade imbalance, but it's crucial to remember that the U.S. benefits from the global use of the U.S. dollar as the primary currency for international trade and reserves. This global reliance on the USD provides the U.S. with significant leverage, allowing it to maintain over 800 military bases around the world. These advantages, however, do not come without cost. The U.S. essentially exchanges a piece of paper-its dollar-for real goods and services from other nations. If countries were to stop using the USD, it would likely lead to a dramatic collapse of the U.S. economy. The global dominance of the dollar enables the U.S. to essentially get products and services in exchange for money that holds value largely because of this system.

If you think we care about the world using the USD as the world currency, we do not. If that ever becomes the case, then we will pull all troops from foreign lands and will no longer come to the aid of allies. The US will stop being the one to protect everyone else. Going forward, everyone must pay their share of defense and build up their own militaries to help defend. The world already let us down in defense of free shipping with the Houthis attacks on commercial ships from all countries that sailed through the area closest to their country. The failure of countries to come to our request for assistance in helping share the cost of that defense is a major point for what Trump is doing now. That failure will mean everyone who refused the call will pay for their own defense or will pay dearly for our services. America must start defending itself first and foremost.

Canada and the U.S. should unite with open borders, a shared same currency, and a stronger economy-bringing affordable travel, better telecom, cheaper cars, and reasonably priced homes, making North America more prosperous than ever. Trump is right. The 51st state

I was always shocked about how anti American most Canadians i met were. Even some companies i worked for were outright prejudice against the Americans. There is a deep routed CCP and Russian influence in this country for decades now.

What are you talking about? I’m born and raised in Canada and well travelled and worked abroad. Canadian’s don’t hate Americans. What I hate is Russians who move to Canada to get out of Russia and criticize Canada. I’ve seen and talked to way too many of them. Leave!

Remember Americans love you and Trump is not against you. If you chose to join America, you could work out how many states you would be instead of just one. I would assume each province would be a separate state with its own Senators and Congress members. Not sure that is what is best for Canada, but you must understand that China and Russia are wanting to expand, and Canada is a target. The USA would probably come to your aid as much as possible but not being American soil makes you weaker in that case. If joined and we get Greenland, then America would be unstoppable and stop the targeting of China / Russia. Things for us all to ponder. I believe Trump will be pulling our Troops back from the EU mostly which will force them to increase their defense spending for their protection. Time is over for America to pay the bill to protect all these other countries. Hopefully, together we can find a good way forward that will benefit us all.

@@diegoperez2090 Canada is not even a real sovereign country. An actual sovereign country is one who is able to defend its territories. It's military is tiny. It cannot even defend its vast borders, its coastlines and air space. Canada is also far behind with its NATO spending obligations for the past 30 yrs. Canada only exists because of the US defense umbrella and it exists at the discretion of the US. Canada's security and much of its past prosperity are resulted from the US. If the US really wants to, it could take over Canada in a couple of days since long ago. That is the reality. Many Canadians who are in the know are very well aware of all this. Given the economic, social and political decline Canada is going through for the past several years, it's not surprising that many Canadians don't mind if the US takes over the country. Hypothetically if that is to come in the future, it will very likely be through a legal process. Alberta is not happy at all under Ottawa and Alberta is the mother's milk of Canada. If Alberta goes, the rest will have little choice.

@@DanKann86I am not denying that USA can take over Canada. But why would it do that? And if USA stops protecting it and China takes over then it will become a real problem for the USA. Canadian government understands is, so does the US government. All I was saying is that Russia is weak and in no position to invade Canada or any country apart from ex-USSR republics.
