Hi, Big D. I'm hoping you can help me. I'm a 60 year old terminal cancer patient. When I was 5, my dad took me to Canada for an overnight fishing trip. Dad's gone now, and I will be too soon, but I would really like to have a set of coins (penny, nickel, dime and quarter only) from that era (anything from the sixties) purely for nostalgia's sake. I do not collect for value, so well used coins would suit me fine. I live in Texas, or else I would go there and get them for myself, but I can't. I got some penny roles and went through them. with a magnet found some 2006 that were magnetic and some that were not. Got the idea that precious metals were not going beyond 2006 however I found three pennies from 2003 that are magnetic. Did they already start non precious metals in 2003 and then went back to precious metals? Of the three pennies from 2003 the obverse is different. But they are all magnetic. Do I have something?

@@44Aroda I saw some at a coin collector store. But I think they were 2012. No metal value. I doubt the bank would give them out. Try nickels. USA still uses copper and nickel. Any nickel before 1982 is maybe 20 cents. after 1982 before 2000 also has value.

Yes and no. Most of them are not worth much more than face value. Any from 1920-1936 are hard coins and can bring good money depending on the date. King George VI type are worth keeping. I personally keep all the Elizabeth's of the first portrait type. After that it can be hit an miss with a few errors and varieties being worth good money (do some research), But most cents after 1963 are worth... a cent.

I've found Canadian pennies in bags of wheat cents ( guaranteed to *only contain wheat cents,... yah, right!) But I've found a 1933 "George", a 1960 and two 1967 "Dove cents". So I'm totally Okay with it. Finding a Paso would be surprising.

The royal Canadian mint doesn't call it a portrait, instead it is referred to as an effigy. The last effigy, the crownless Susana Blunt effigy Canada broke with the tradition of using the same effigy as the UK.

Hi, I'm from Canada loved your video didn't know all that, just a note: you and your followers , the Canadian penny from 2006 I'm not sure, anyway you will find some that are magnetic and others not in the same year. Here the good part..if it is non magnetic and has a logo under the Queen you can get up to $5000...if it is non magnetic but has no logo under the Queen it's goes down fast. There are some good Utube video on this...Good hunting ppl.

I think the big coin dealers and auctions don't really care what the date is. As long as it wasn't ever circulated - still looks like new -exept for a mark from strike errors, and it has the S mint mark. On it. I believe if I had a no cash value token coin that looked like brand new. With a date say 1943 S on it. I could sell it for 2.8 mill. Just because of the S mint mark And it was copper like the penny. Lol. That S Mark is gold the D or P no one really cares for them unless there is a major major flaw with them

The only "No Cash Value" tokens I know of, that actually have minted dates on them are "Chuck E Cheese" (Pizza) tokens. I have three of them! I have a 1995 in circulated condition and a 1999 & 2000 both in mint condition. "Where should I start the bidding?"

Some exceptions are the 1914D and 1919D. both are more valuable that the "S" of the same grade, respectfully, due to the lower mintages of the Denver mint. (Lower than the San Francisco mintage) of those years. etc. There could be other years too, but I'm not sure. It's all about the mintage numbers.

There's a difference in the size of Queen Elizabeth face it's bigger on the 1968 coin that I have and on the 1960 coin it's smaller which indicates a mint change

Here's some tip for you, find a 1965 & 1985 with pointed 5. They have some value. And a 1969 dime with large date..( worth approx. $10K) if you are lucky enough to find them....
