Not surprised. Canada post never delivers Amazon to my door. They always leave a slip and I have to travel 30 minutes one way to pick up my package. I work from home and am there to receive the packages. Laziness and bad customer service caused this.

Sometimes they can’t leave your package at the door due to people stealing packages, if you specify to leave at the door or have a bin to put your packages in, they will leave it. It has to be hidden so nobody can see from the street. I think if we knew what’s going on behind the scenes, we kinda understand a little

They need to cut at the management levels like most western corporations. Instead they always squeeze at the operations end that actually makes the place work. As a result, moralle goes down which is then reflected in the service, and customers leave. But western corporations will never learn.

Anytime before the 90s we used to write these things called letters, get all our bills and documents sent to us, send back payments, packages... everyone did it, and for the most part the postal service did a pretty good job 99% of the time. The entire operation was set up and based on that model, which in this era of everything electronic and multiple delivery businesses is anyone surprised? A nation wide bricks and mortar, people and trucking based delivery service handling a fraction of what it used to handle. All we get is flyers anyways...

If Canada post could at least get addressed mail into the proper community mailbox, and not lose half their mail, then people would probably use them more. And how about accountability! Privatization creates efficiencies. If there is a domestic market that is untapped, private companies are competiting with each other for consumers dollars, the prices go to zero. Look at the tech sector, it wasn't regulated, yu enjoy the power of a mainframe compter in you pockets. CanadaPost is so inefficient, they can't fire the staffs that tell me bad things, they have this intonated tone of saying thankyou for your business when they aren't creating any value.

@@vask9748 you still need that facility. They can make it more efficient, much more tighter, harness a razor thin profit margin since they acquired the monopoly being government funded and embark on other higher profit margin opportunities now opened and now plush with cash. They can't do it publicly because there is not competition made. They have to privatize strategically now that they are collapsing and offer exceptional value to its end users, us, the customers. Like walmart. Mailing should be commoditized like rice flour things you eat, keep it balanced and with cutting edge efficiencies they bring prices down.

Canada Post is severely missed managed. I know someone who works at one of the mail processing centres and the stories they’ve told me will make you scratch your head. For a shift they’ll call in say 50 people, 30 of those people, they won’t have any work for them so they tell them “we have no work, just do whatever for your shift, clean your work area, sweep up, etc” they’ll pay them an entire shift to do nothing instead of sending them home and paying them the minimum 4 hours for showing up for work.

Unions, destroying Canadian productivity one organization at a time.
@galefraney
@galefraney 19 күн бұрын
One big reason is that after paying more than $50 to have a package delivered by Canada Post, instead of delivering the package, instead they put a card in my mailbox telling a bold faced lie, saying "delivery was attempted" ... when it wasn't ... I was waiting all day for the delivery. Then I was forced to go to the Post Office and pick up the heavy parcel (I don't own a car) ... so all the money I spent on delivery was a complete waste (and total joke). This is why I now ensure that items I order come by courier. Very simple ... Canada Post has one simple job to fulfill ... when it instead tells lies to avoid delivering packages ... people then avoid using them in the future. They choose other ways of having their packages delivered. Very simple cause and effect scenario.

They should call the King and ask for money. At some point, did no one in 1971 (when the internet was invented) and thereafter in the 80s and 90s (when email was adopted in the Western world) think about this? At the very least, the principle that delivering mail to Canadians is a core responsibility, not for profit, should have attracted the necessary talent to adapt to the times. Sorry, but not sorry-facts don't care about feelings.
@andylee7457
@andylee7457 22 күн бұрын
Its simple. They had the chance to take all the parcel business but failed miserably with Amazon and bunch of other small business. Canada Post took the job but did not improve their current process. All clients ended up switching away from Canada Post because Canada Post could not fulfill the demands. Its the worst when parcel is missing since Canada Post do not take those issues serious enough. Even the business whom used to use Canada Post are now switched to other companies. Its obvious turnout. They suck at what they do so more and more people are not choosing to use Canada Post. They still have same # of employees since they are unionized although they probably need half of their workforce to do the job they have. They need to be privatized to survive.

When a business operating with a monopoly can't make a profit, it's time to get out of the business. Cut the workforce by 10% (or whatever number is needed) and the deficit is gone. @@magnusatheos7301 Transition to community mailboxes. 35-years ago when community boxes started, government gave unions notice that in 30-years, all mail would be delivered to community boxes and door delivery would cease. That would give all letter carriers (even the one that started work the next day), time to end their careers. Operational level is from management to 'boots on the ground'. they all go.
