The song is from a movie called "Black candles-الشموع السوداء". The Actor "Saleh Selim" is playing the role of a rich famous poet who caught his wife cheating, this event led to an accident in which he lost his sight. the poem "Don't lie-لا تكذبي" was the last thing he wrote before retiring. For years now living a solitary life, depending on his guide dog for movement, & full of anger & hatred & lack of trust in all women. his friend introduced him to a helper/nurse "Nagat El Saghira" to take care of him. in this scene she told him how much she liked his poems especially this one, not knowing the personal back story of it & its effect on him.

It’s a movie, where the man (Saleh Selim, a football champ in real life) He was the poet who wrote the song after a bad experience ended up with him loosing his sight. Nagat was his nurse, who asked him to sing it not knowing the dilemma behind it. He was angry at first then he let her sing it to test his old feelings. The dog was his. And was also escorting him in the movie as the role of escorting the blind man.

Nagat El Saghira: Egyptian Singer and Actress نجاة الصغيرة: مطربة وممثلة مصرية Nagat was born in 1938. She began singing in family gatherings at the age of 5 and made her first film Hadiya (released in 1947) at the age of eight. This song is part of egyptian movie called the black candles.. Saleh selim the main actor in this movie was a rich poet. He have been betrayed by his lover and because of that he had an accident and lose her sight.. Then he lived a lone with his dog suffering from this betrayal... His friend and his mom introduce him Nagat as a nurse to take care of him. In the beginning of this scene she was talking to him that she used to read his poems and used to sing it especially poem (Don't lie). He wrote this poem after he watching his lover betrayed him with another man. So when Nagat told him the words in the beginning of the scene he was very angry because he remember everything. After that he let her to sing it but he was in pain during listening to her. Another note... The real poet of this poem is called Kamel Elshennawy.. He was very famous poet and he wrote many poems for Nagat, Abdelhalim Hafez, Mohammed Abdelwahab, umm kalthom and other singers...This poem he wrote it in his lover as he was loving her so much but she was in love with another man and during her birthday party he saw her with him... The very strange thing that the woman he loved her by this terrified way was Nagat Elsaghira... After he wrote the poem, he gave it to Mohammed Abdelwahab and he sing it.. After that Nagat ask Abdelwahab to sing it in this movie... What a world By the way, Abdelhalim Hafez sing it also..😂 😂 😂

Wow, thank you Jay. in this song the woman whom did the betrayal. in this movie the actor performs as a retired writer because he lost his sight and became blind, she was acting as his nurse، they were fighting at the begaining of the song becasue she reminded him with the betryal of his first love by this poem. the actor in this movie is "صالح سليم"the famous Egyptian football plyer in the 60ths. regading to the dog in the movie and in fact this dog was a retired police dog , it was trained to act in this movie as the blind writer' guidence, the dog has performed his role very well😍

This song is part of a famous movie entitled" Black Candles" , the hero is that one you see in the video called Saleh Selim who is a well known and prestigious football player in the 1950s and was the head of Al Ahly Club in Egypt. The heroine is Nagat who acts as a nurse to him because he is blind in the story. The old movies usually were used to use songs that serves the dramatic shots of the movie. That is why she encountered him by this song written actually by him because he has been betrayed by another woman and he was imprisoned by the illusion that all women are betrayers. Actually in this beautiful poem there’s no reverse pronouns. She is singing a poem that the hero … the actor in the scene has written about the betrayal of the woman he loved and because of whom he lost his sight too. The dog is actually the actor’s dog in real life. I think he was trying to comfort his owner since he could sense that he was sort of upset. The actor is Salah Salim. He was a soccer top star in Egypt and he didn’t act for long. He didn’t believe he was a good actor and he stuck to his sport career. Yet, I think he had a great cinematic face. Oh God if you only knew the reality behind this! In the film she's singing his poem to his unfaithful lover that he composed while driving after discovering her betrayal and so he had an accident and lost his sight; that's why verse goes " a fire breaks out in my heart and road gets lost under my feet!" (she's his nurse and in the scene before this, she got shocked that he, her favorite poet, stopped composing and reminded him of his last poem, he was hurt and rude. She decided to leave but then knew the truth and came to apologize. In an act of denial and proving his strength he asked her to sing it and as you see he's tortured and she sympathizes with him even the dog feels the tension) If this moves you as fiction, well prepare yourself for the real shock: The poem is written by Kamel El Shenawy, who discovered Nagat's talent and supported her and loved her! But she didn't love him back! Yes it was written for (or against) Nagat! Who didn't love him in return (well he was older and grotesquely bigger in body size) but was shy to refuse may be but never shy to take and use even the poem he wrote with his tears after wounding him though she knew he's under the same roof as it was her birthday party! The singer is his nurse who's hired to take care of him. She tries to use the shock technique to get him out off his vicious circle, so she sings him this song about betrayal.
