Thank you for reacting to a song from Om Kulthum's early years. We can experience her voice when she was at her peak through her film songs. It's hard to find good quality recordings of her concerts from that time and the style of singing and music in her longer songs then was different from the later years. Another well loved film song of Om Kulthum is "Ya Lilelt ElEid", which means Eid's Eve it celebrates Eid and is still played on Egyptian TV and radio in Eid

IJay, you might be interested to know this song is composed by Zakariya Ahmed, the same composer who wrote Howa Sahih, which you reacted to elsewhere. This song was originally released in 1945, that one was first released in 1960. Zakariya Ahmed had not composed anything for her for many years, and there had been some personal strain between them (including some legal clashes); but his belated return to writing for her was obviously a big success. I am happy he was able to write her that one last song; he is one of my favorite Umm Kulthum composers.

Much appreciate it. I have some questions now🙂 Is the part of speech for أغاني، أنغام، and نغم a noun? If I am not mistaken غناء would be a verb and the most challenging thing for me in Arabic is that I don't know how to use proper verbs for a sentence. For instance, in this song غناء turns into غنیلي as an imperative verb!
