We have 3 kind of gamelan. What you are watching is Balinese Gamelan. The other two is Javanese n Sundanese Gamekan. They are quite different.

Ada banyak jenis gamelan yang masing masing memiliki ke unikan sendiri dan ciri khas sendiri sendiri seperti gamelan minang kabau , gamelan sundanese , gamelan javanese dan gamelan balinese .

Indonesian musical instrument = gamelan, whose musical instruments always use the characteristic pentatonic tone, which consists of 3 different types of gamelan according to the region. Balinese gamelan is dynamic with a medium to fast rhythm, Sundanese gamelan has a medium to fast rhythm which always depends on the rhythm of the drums and flutes, Javanese gamelan is always slow, melancholic and calm following the rhythm like a gentle breeze. Javanese gamelan can be therapeutic or a medium for meditation.

Gamelan adalah budaya yg tersebar di indonesia dan memiliki nama yg berbeda2 di tiap daerah, namun originalnya itu adalah berasal dari 3 etnic yaitu : Sunda, Jawa, Bali. (untuk etnic sunda tidak disebut gamelan tapi degung) kenapa bisa 3 etnic? hal ini dikarenakan mereka memiliki warisan budaya dari dan nenek moyang yang sama. namun terpecah di era kerajaan, ditambah parah dengan campur tangan asing yang menggunakan strategi pecah belah membagi mereka kedalam grup tertentu dengan tujuan melemahkan kekuatan sehingga berkembang dan berubah sendiri2 secara alami antara ketiga gamelan tersebut sangat mudah dibedakan hanya dari nuansanya Bali : ritme yg dinamic Jawa : sakral/spriritual Sunda : lemah lembut/bernuansa alam
