Welcome to Montreal! One of our favourite cities in Canada, and the home of one of our favourite bike brands, Bassi Bikes! In the 48 hours we had in the city we found ourselves biking the streets of Montreal to visit a few bike shops, Montreal thrift shops, and some food of course.
The first shop we visit is C&L Cycle on Rue Rachel. This is Montreal's destination for all things Alt Cycling. You'll find Rivendell Bikes, Paul Components, Hitch Bicycle Club, Blue Lug, Nitto Handlebars, Stridsland frames and components, Sim Works, and more! We take a closer look at the Bassi Coyote and the Bassi Hog's Back.
We then take a ride up Mont Royal to do a bit of Gravel Grinding within the city and take in the view, then quickly rip to a couple of more bike shops! For two people who love all things bike related Montreal doesn't disappoint!

Looks like good times. Have wanted to visit and explore Montreal but always have driven around it at odd hours to avoid traffic while going across Canada. But now I need ot stop, C&L Cycles, fresh proper bagels. mmmmm

@@bike.breath I drove from Ott to C & L Rachel to buy a frame and some parts, then headed up Mt Royal on my gravel bike, and then back into town for bagels! No overnight stay for a show or more adventure though :( hahaha

@@bike.breath Super gorgeous area to cruise around! I was outside Rachel and looking at the bike path wondering if it went up to the top, and yeah! More or less haha. I love that it's such a short ride from a really densely packed and lively slice of town as well. I could have spent all day just exploring that neighbourhood alone. Alas, I had a bike to drive home and build haha. I loved your recco for the Gnocchi place, I need to check that out. Also, I hope you snagged that Killers jersey! Super rad! PS - If you see a dude on a gold Surly with drops and a black bar bag, or riding a fixed Bassi in green with orange accents and all silver Nitto parts, that's me! I'm out here trying to get the fall rides in before the big sad is upon us in the valley haha.

you really did get in all the best spots on your tour. next time take a $7 train ride up to st jerome from downtown and you'll have access to Le Petit Train du Nord, which is 200km of bike path all the way up to Mont Laurier. if you want to go just half way, 91KM, you'll end up in Mont Tremblant which is a beautiful ski resort town. and if you don't want to take the train to st jerome there is actually a bike bath all the way from the city. was it NOFX you guys came to see?
