NJ also has its own style of pizza called the Trenton tomato pie. Unlike the thicker square Italian tomato pie, Trenton tomato pie is circular and uses a thin crust. The mozzarella and toppings are placed on the pie first followed by the tomato sauce placed on top, much like a Chicago deep dish or Detroit style.
