We will build internal supply capacities and support our great workers. The minute we turn the oil off to the USA is the minute they reconsider their position. Canada has global leverage as Trump creates enemies all over the world. We will capitalize on your new enemies to create new opportunities for growth for Canada. Canada should not forget the harm Trump has created. Our soldiers must come home for our Southern Brothers must be reminded that it is North America .. and we are the North.

Hey PM... we need economic reform. It's about time that we start manufacturing again; instead of being a nation of consumers. It would be nice to be able to afford the cost of living, and fuel. "Those products" can easily be acquired from overseas or be made within our own country. Maybe it's time to cut the cord and be an independent nation again.

Being overlooked in all of this is that Canadian steel and aluminum companies can simply leave Canada. Trump has already removed a lot of regulations for U.S businesses, he's lowered taxes and he's, now he implemented tariffs on Canada. Canada's main weapon to compete with the United States is the lower loonie. A tit for tat tariff will hurt the country with the lower currency, higher taxes, and more business regulations. I hope the Canadian government is wise enough to match America's business incentives without raising taxes on Canadians

How do you figure? Canada could simply agree to eliminate or greatly reduce all its tariffs on trade as the US President has suggested for all parties. Why not? I think Ive Chang is right. Trump doesn't know how to give loyalty to people who stab him in the back, not like the Canadians who still back Justin. I'm not sure if that is entirely a bad thing, for Trump; for Canadians it's a disaster. Justin's solution is for Canadians to complain on social media till the US gives in, because they expect US citizens to turn against the president from all those complaints. I don't think they thought that through.

I like Trump and approve of what he is doing. Think about it! Wake up! We as people keep buying cheap stuff (made in China) and China uses inferior steel, the product we buy ends up in the landfill after 3 years (Reason for climate change ?, Hmm I wonder...) If the US does not put tariff on steel coming from China (inferior Steel) flooding all countries, what would happen if, in the future we could only buy steel from China? When we build tanks, armored vehicles , how strong would this steel be, and what if China refuses to sell us steel in the future? Trump wants to correct this as a national defense issue, and I agree.
@johnbluebeard43556 жыл бұрын
Andre, I completely agree with you. I don't see the issue as being terribly complicated, except for the convoluted supply chains that chinese steel goes thru.
@rabbitbobo41316 жыл бұрын
I mean, I am sure you have not trade internationally so let me help, China's Steel are nor inferior or superior in any way all steel are steel, it goes in to the quality control process same as US steel, it is the state sponsored company which is the problem as they are sponsored to export steel, those are usually steel that Trump used in 90-95 % of his construction project ( not joking look it up). Any high grade steel or Aluminium are usually from Canada or Germany (EU) and this is what this topic is about, the high tensile steel, such as large tube and Car grade Aluminium. Any why do things break more easily now days? because they are made to be broken in a few years so customer keeps buying, who started this trend? Try the Korean, Samsung in particular, Most Chinese brand do not get sold in US, and they are manufactured and quality control by US company before shipping.. people keeps saying China, but how many Chinese branded tools have you seen in US market? There are more Taiwan Tools then China tools..
@johnbluebeard43556 жыл бұрын
Chloe Wang Yes, yes. China is the hero of the universe and everything China does is wonderful. China still sells some defective steel, but you get what you pay for, and Chinese steel is cheap. Google "defective chinese steel" adn you can read all about the junk, defective steel being delivered by China. This junk steel is dangerous if used in bridges, etc., but it's fine for cans and dog cages. The answer is to use the junk steel in applications that don't have any safety issues, like washing machines and dog cages.

What makes you think that you'll have access to it, when Canada itself doesn't allow pipeline passages in its OWN country due to politics. - Which is why Alberta, which had its pipelines built decades ago, has most of it's oil going to the US's west coast (more Oil goes to the US than Canada itself just to give you an idea of the magnitude) - After Saudi Arabia, what most people dont know is that Canada has the second highest Oil Reserve in the world.
