No such thing as free Healthcare

It a lie too that it’s “free” healthcare. You pay taxes for it, which makes it a forced contribution, not a choice.

These bros don't know what they're talking about. US is the only major industrialized country in the world without a national healthcare plan. The result in the US is national anxiety over health events and fear of bankruptcy. It's barbaric.

Moved from Alberta to Texas, the healthcare here is much better, insurance for family of 4 is 380$ month. Fast access to specialists, virtually zero wait times, nice facilities.

Rich: I paid 7 figures in taxes this year to the CRA. I go into the hospital and there are a dozen "new" immigrants from a particular country ahead of me and I have to wait for hours. Who is paying for wh in this situation and why should I wait behind them?

Should have to pay the full price up front while in school or waiting on citizenship. Should still have to pay to catch up on over 50 year olds that come here .we pay 7800 per citizen

Paid for health care doesn't guarantee it to be better than free either. Paying extortionate fees for some simple procedures doesnt mean you're getting the best care.

Have you ever Looked at the size of Dubai and (Only) the area of Canada that is occupied by Most inhabitants. You Compare more or less a midsized city against one of the biggest countries of the world. Keeping all small canadian villages connected to the Country Costs more than Running a city with Short distances. Regarding Health Care. We have the Same probs here in Germany and we are really well developed. No doctors in the countryside but more than enough in the cities.

This has been going on for DECADES. I used to drive my Grandfather, a WWII VETERAN, across the line, in order for him to receive treatment for cancer, and drive him back. WHY? Because, as he told me, he could wait up to 18 months in Canada to go through the system or he could go to the States, and start immediately.

This happens all the time (for Canadians).

Alberta boy here. Have only been in the emergency once. I cut open my finger with a knife when I was working at Pizza Hut. Was bleeding pretty good and was going to need stitches. From getting to emergency to leaving it took almost 8 hours and it wasn’t even a busy night. I waited in main emergency room for 4 hours having a nurse come and check on me and rebandage my finger every hour , then they finally got me in a room where I then waited an hour before the main nurse came in cleaned my wound a bit and said the dr was coming. Took another hour for the dr to come look at my finger and then he left. After another hour he came back gave me 7 stitches, 1 of which wasn’t even near the wound which was ridiculous. Dr said a nurse will come soon to clean up the stitched wound and rebandage it shortly. I waited another hour and washed the wound my self in the sink in the room found some polysporene and bandages in the cupboards dressed my wound up and left . I was also supposed to come back to get the stitches removed but decided I’ll do that myself with scissors and tweezers. Absolutely free except it costed 8 hours of my life for what should have been a 10 minute stitch and dress up. A few years after that I cut open my finger again ( same finger different area , being stupid with a knife ) needing stitches but I just sucked on the wound until it started closing up and then I poured some isopropyl alcohol on it, put some gauze on it and with duct tape wrapped it real tight and went on with my life. Free doesn’t mean good I completely agree

Canadians use their "free" health care system (50% tax rate is not free) like it's free turkey giveaway day at the grocery store. They go in for their checkups and monthly appointments WHETHER OR NOT SOMETHING IS WRONG. That's why it's overloaded.

Paying for mistakes, and unhealthy behaviour that cant be rectified. Its not about money. Its about Survival/Resiliancy Prevention Diseases Trauma Post Facilitation Theres a difference bewteen, being taxed and tithing into a cooperative endeavor. Taxes are on Superfluous items. Exemptions are usually on Necessities. Sports cars are Superfluous. Tax A Tractor, to grow food is not. Exempt

The PROBLEM cousin, is that the ER is FILLED with People that should NOT be there. and EVERY SINGLE ONE has to be "Looked" at before they can get to you, no matter how small, how inconvenient. A sniffle? Watery Eyes? A Sore joint? Back Pain? Now Imagine you going because you have a serious condition, and it's legit, as in plausible. YOU WILL WAIT and WAIT and WAIT. Don't forget, that because of the Open Flood Gates of Immigration, the MAJORITY of these people in the ER can NOT speak English. The BEST way to get in and jump the line in Canada, is now to call an Ambulance and that takes you to the Front of the Line. BUT that also costs you MONEY. Ambulance Rides are NOT free. Several Hundred plus Dollars. This never used to be a problem. Canada's Medical System, was once the envy of most western democracies, then the LIEberals got in and F it all up.

The problem is, should a country provide free healthcare to people who just arrive?
@jonathanpabon447723 күн бұрын
@lochnessmunster1189 Sure, why not? They have that in both Germany and Canada. Hell Americans can go to Canada and get medicine and medical care over there for cheaper and there's not really an issue. What's really stopping them from implementing a cheaper system that makes it cost little to nothing to all Americans? I don't think it's fair that the majority of people should suffer because they don't want to let a few people have basic human decency in getting healthcare treatment. The real issue is corporate greed that prevents from implementing that type of system in America. Since they make billions from the current system and that kind of implementation would severely destroy their profits. As a result the people get screwed over while literally corporations make billions🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
@lochnessmunster118923 күн бұрын
@@jonathanpabon4477 But why should people be forced to pay for something? And be forced to pay for incomers to come in and have free healthcare?
@jonathanpabon447723 күн бұрын
@lochnessmunster1189 Because in that system everyone pays in and everyone gets healthcare no matter what and everything is covered. In the current system we have you only get healthcare if you can afford it and not everything is covered and you still have to pay thousands a year out of pocket. That's the difference. Basically what do you value more. A system that is broken and not everyone can afford or is not covered, or a system in where everything is covered and anyone can use it no matter what. The benefits outweigh the cons in this instance. Just because a few thousand or hundred thousand or a few million people who are undocumented use it doesn't mean that the 360 million Americans shouldn't be allowed to have it. The only thing this hurts is the corporations that will lose billions as a result of not providing adequate healthcare. But these types of problems are used to distract people from the real issues and prevent them from improving.

Maybe stop and think about our infrastucture. I'm honestly getting sick of people not looking at the larger picture. And wait times, my Mom needed emergency surgery, she was on the table within hours. Oh and maybe look at the people that use to become doctor were wealthy and could afford to do it and did it for the status, now there are really easier ways for them to make money and status is the big boat.

The citizens of Dubai and these other emirates enjoy a high standard of living because the ratio of well-supported citizens to the general population is extremely lopsided-around 80-90% expatriates. The native population is so small that they can bask in exceptional treatment, whereas expats have a less lavish time but enjoy tax-free work. So if you’re a loser or not a native, you work and/or languish or leave. It’s beautiful!

For those Americans who love to point out Canada and the Scandinavian countries for socialized healthcare, they also fail to realize that these countries have far smaller populations to manage. USA is at about 335 million where Canada is about 41 million, Sweden is 10.5 million, Norway 5.5, Denmark 6... Much easier to handle those sizes than what we have here. And they still are far from perfect as stated about Canadian healthcare. It's fine when it's a life or death emergency (probably, except cancer) but anything else you have to wait. Without prices, you have to ration he service-there aren't infinite hospital, doctors, medicines, etc.
