I’m American and there’s no way this could be the most embarrassing loss. It’s juniors, guys are young, it’s preliminary games, and it’s hockey. Single game upsets happen. View this way more as an awesome feel good win for Latvia than some devastating loss for Canada. That’s why you play the game!

To the Latvian players, this is a win they'll tell their future children about. Meanwhile to the Canadians this was a game they were expected to win 10-0. I guarantee this will only be the beginning of a dark age for Canada Hockey. Economic inequality is making it extremely hard for talented kids to get into hockey due to the cost of playing so they transition to any other sport that will take a lower physical toll like European football, baseball and basketball. As kids see the success of Canada's soccer and basketball programs they will go for those over hockey and Canada will likely see the impact of the sport decline. Its sad as its a major part of Canadian culture, but of course the corporate class don't care as long as they can make money at the end of the day. Its a complete travesty when it would be unthinkable 10 years ago to see Latvia EVER come within a goal of beating Canada. This should be a MASSIVE warning call.

Canada’s first mistake was snubbing Misa, Yakemchuk, Parekh, Hage, and Sennecke. Also, Gavin McKenna should be playing more than he is. Utter clowns running this team.

This was a horrible performance but we gotta keep our heads high, same thing happened in 2021 and we still won the tournament. If they work on their power play and get it back together i think we still have a chance.

This wouldn't have happened if Halifax was hosting the tourney. Heave away!

Canada will have a hard time getting invited to these tournaments in the next few years. Canada is quickly becoming one of the poorest nations and hockey is the last thing they will be able to afford in 2 more years.

Bro Latvia I've always had respect for them ever since that one goalie just about goalie'd us what almost 10 years ago now? They aren't nobodies like their reputation in the standings indicate.

Canada is fine they obviously weren’t playing 100% and give it to Latvia great defensive team

If only Canada had offensive stars that could’ve played in this tournament

Canucks now act like U.S basketball fans, like they deserve the gold based solely on the fact of the jersey they wear. Cockiness is not a great attribute, especially for a nation that prides itself on being nice, polite, humble, and oh so not America.

Like I said in my last comment: look at the leading scorers in the WHL, OHL, and the Q. How many are on this team? Nuff said. The system sucks

Ok right off the gate: it’s NOT that insane that Canada lost to Latvia and I’ll tell you why: 1) the powerplay: it didn’t exist 2) Feldberg: that guy played out of his mind 3) Too many penalties After 1-0 that short handed goal something wasn’t right. I had seen this movie before. This had choke potential written all over it. There was insecurity moving the puck, and Latvia smelled blood in the water. I hate to say it, and I’m gonna sound off like an elder Milennial but these kids are SOFT. They played scared.

Everyone is shitting on the Canadian team instead of praising the Latvian team.
