I'm gonna point something out. And read my story if you want to. I was on a school field trip and I was forced onto this ride by my teacher because I didn't give hand in my permission slip on time. So he said, "go on the vortex with ur friends and me. It's not that bad and there aren't any drops." My stupid ass believed him. I got on the ride and we were ACENDING. I was freaking out a bit cause I was told this ride was very fast. All the sudden I hear my teacher, who is in the last cart and I'm in the first, yell "I LIED BROOKE!" "WHAT!?!" "I LIED! WHERE DO YOU THINK WE'RE GOING!" We haven't even gotten to the drop and I'm already screaming and when we did hit it I just yelled YOU LIED TO ME!! YOU LIED!! I was yelling that the entire time. We came to the first stop and everyone on the ride with us was laughing. One person asked what he lied about and I yelled "HE SAID THERE WERE NO DROPS. HE LIED TO ME." And everyone laughed again. I'm holding that grudge until I go to visit the school in a year. YES I HOLD GRUDGES.

According to Wikipedia: "Riders on the Vortex can before the first drop still see remnants of the look-out terrace." (From the old Thunder Run layout) but I don't see any remnants.

There actually is! You know the rocky part before the first drop? There is an arch right before the first drop! I know this comment was a year ago, but just in case you still don't know where it is.

I went on this like 3 times with my mom and I like the ride but when ur going up the hill thing at the start it kind of hurts ur back a little bit but other then that it's a awesome ride

Actually, no it doesn't. They've already got the hill up and the first drop built and that part doesn't intertwine with Vortex at all.

This ride reminds me sooo much of flight deck in California's great america. EVEN THE WATER PART IS THE SAME! And the color of the ride too

That's because it is, but Vortex is the fastest of its kind at 55 mph, while The Bat at Kings Island only goes 51 mph. Also Vortex is the tallest suspended coaster at 91 feet tall, while The Bat is only 72 feet tall.

I was nervous about rides too when I was younger, but faced my fears and went on Vortex and Leviathan still getting over a lot, but I promise you are 100 percent safe and you will absolutely love this ride
