Thank god we drafted McAvoy in 16. We really chose Jakub Zboril instead of Chabot

Zboril, DeBrusk, Senyshyn Instead of Barzal, Chabot, Connor, Eriksson Ek, Boeser, Konecny, Aho, Hintz 2015 done right could have made Boston a dynasty. Imagine Chabot with McAvoy, or Barzal between Marchand and Pastrnak

That's one of the best games ever played. A huge number of these guys are current NHLers and at a high level. Man Carter Hart was spent. I think this screwed with his confidence, to have a 2-goal lead twice.

The US already beat Canada in regulation in this tournament. If anything them beating Canada in a shootout further exemplified how much better this US team was than Canada

Part of Canada’s ignorance to their current development woes is ignoring when their players aren’t as good as ones from other countries. McAvoy was clearly the more complete and better overall defenseman (and still is). But Canadian fans back then tried gaslighting everyone else into thinking Chabot was better. They need to do what USA hockey did 30 years ago and take a look in the mirror and make changes
