I loved all his big hits , Sundown in particular , but I’d never dived into his albums or earlier stuff, this hasn’t disappointed , it’s beautiful. I can see how this would be a great fit for Glen Campbell too as both are guitar wizards with smashing voices . Good call 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hello, Chris and Cynthia: When I saw the title, I thought, Wholly Cow, how on earth are they doing this one? I was hoping you would let us know who requested it forgetting that I had left you that comment a while back. I am blown away with my eyeballs bugging out! I never mentioned the mono at the start and then how it 'explodes' into stereo when the orchestra comes in. I'm amazed that you commented on that because that is one of my favourite parts of the song. Also, I love the lyrics, "And if time could heal the wounds, I would tear the threads away that I might bleed some more." Who writes like that? I'm glad to see how moved you both were by it because that is what it always does to me. Am I raving? Anyway, fellow Canadian here from the Bruce-Grey area and I want to thank you so much for including that in your Canadian Content. Glen Campbell also did a cover of this.

@@hanierfamily At the risk of breaking the rule to quit while you are ahead, there is another 'wonderful' one from the same time period. Even if you just listen to this on your own, you should check out A Minor Ballad, another very beautiful one of Gord's. Gord had five albums on the United Artists label, before he was on Reprise. Now, knowing your love for Gord's material but not knowing this early stuff, I would encourage you to listen to these early works as they really are some of his best and what he built his later stuff on. I believe you will also know some of them. Thanks again; take care.

Glen Campbell has a recording of this also...both performances are stunningly beautiful. Gordon...what a brilliant songwriter and performer.
