Canadian federal election night in under 7 minutes

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau will win enough seats in the 2021 federal election to form another minority government, CBC News has projected. The final seat tally may not look very different from the composition of Parliament when it was dissolved in early August.

The list of requirements to form a federal party is available online, but basically all you need is something like 240 members, a party structure, an office, and to pay for registration. I could start a party and call it the Taco Party and have our whole platform be about taco related issues and as long as I had those things above I'd have a federal party.

Because the requirements of forming a party, 250 electors, and registering are easily met in the province of Quebec due to its french population. I doubt they will ever secede. The more seats they win the better represented they are federally. I believe it would be unlikely if not impossible for them to form a government, but who knows in the political climate these days.

Same reason all the other registered parties in Canada are not featured. Because they have no representation in caucus. The Green Party does. There are around 17 other parties registered with elections Canada as political parties. You don’t hear boo about them either. Which is a good thing in most people’s opinions because they don’t represent general Canadian values but in fact are fringe in beliefs, policies (if they even have any) and makeup. Most of them are put even publicly active but still registered.

Not really surprised, I was just hoping the ndp would have gotten more seats. We keep flip flopping between two parties, neither of which have actually solved the issues that are still prevalent almost a decade later. Housing is still a mess, our dollar is still weak and dependent on oil/gas, our response to environmental collapse is still relying on 30+ year plans, and cost of living is skyrocketing year by year. If you want to have a prosperous country, everyone, even the poorest need to have options to thrive and grow, to achieve success. Issues like our housing problem for example has been catastrophic in that regard, simply building more houses won't fix that.
