Original ones were a solid green, have one of the ones on the left.

Most guys cut the hood out, this jacket was usually worn as a work dress jacket. Usually wasn’t worn in the field. The material wasn’t very durable, if it ripped or tore it would come apart. Airborne regiment Tshirt or sweat shirt was worn underneath it. The cut on these wasn’t very generous, you couldn’t wear your webgear underwear it. It was more decorative than field functional. The snaps would always break with hard use. I wore mine on the 50th anniversary jump into Normandy, lost a snap fastener.

Thank you for the information Dave. I personally find the cut to be quite large and if I want to have one fit for day to day wearing without even thinking of wearing webbing with it, the size needs to be two sizes smaller than what I would normally need. I don’t like pull the dot. The smock with the filed fasteners doesn’t give much confidence in quality so I would agree with you on that. Were you in the parachute regiment before or during its disbandment?
