Just a little side note... Those 24 who started, came from the three regular forces infantry regiments. The 24 BEST out of everyone who tried. So, that 9 finished the course, is a pretty acceptable tally, since they were basically ALL badass warriors, with a Recce badge, airborne wings, and other qualifications, like diving, and mountain warfare... The other 15, deserve a lot of credit just to get there because it's DEFINITELY NOT as if anyone can get access to that very exclusive course. GOOD frigging show, boys.

I don’t know if it’s the same for the British pathfinder course but for the Canadian Pathfinder course, all of the candidates on the course are hand picked by their unit. They all have multiple years in the military and are almost all usually qualified Airborne, recce, basic mountains ops and alot of them have more advanced qualifications like Free fall, sniper, advance recce, advanced mountain ops, combat diver, jump master, parachute instructor qualification and so on. So only the very best get to go in the course. Should be similar in the British army ?

Anyone who attempts is a volunteer and isn't hand picked, they let their chain of Command know they are interested and then attempt the briefing course, after that they attempt selection. Their regiment may recommend to them that they do but anyone can apply

@@CombatReadyHQ Should explain further… yes everybody can volunteer for the pathfinder course. But ultimately, especially in the infantry battalions here, your unit will hand picked who actually goes on the course based on the quality of soldier you are, connections you have or depending on the amount of spots on the course versus number of people volunteering. There’s definitely an element of gate keeping within the pathfinder platoons. That’s basically my point.

There are several prerequisites that have to be met just to be eligible for the Pathfinder course, each of which require OC permission and time in trade. In other words the candidates have to be seasoned soldiers and would have had to pass other courses to qualify for Pathfinder training. Also, I had heard that the CAF were considering giving the Pathfinders Special Operations designation for pay purposes since their on the job training has similarities to CSOR (Canadian Special Operations Regiment). I don't know if this is true or not.

Why is every British military channel now a reaction channel?
@CombatReadyHQ2 жыл бұрын
This won't be for much longer, I am just in a transition and very busy and love making videos so didn't want to not put anything out. Some good changes and videos coming soon and I will be stepping away from reaction videos
