Part of a stand in Nijmagen, Holland collapsed in 2022. No one was seriously injured. A temporary stand collapsed in Corsica in 1992. 18 people were killed. A wooden stand collapsed in Ibrox Park, Glasgow in 1902. 25 people were killed. Surprisingly few collapses over the years. Many more people have died as a result of fire, stampedes, riots and crushes.

All the teams shown in the video have big followship. The crazy thing is actually that the fans who did the clap at 9.40 for the icelandic national team they brought bit over 30.000 people to that game in france which is about 10 per cent of their total population.

For those wondering here the translations of the German chants: - BVB 09 (4:12): Borussia Dortmund, black and yellow is my club. Whether it’s the fight against relegation or for trophies, Borussia Dortmund, singing for you so you may win, because there is nothing more beautiful in the world for me and my friends. - 1. FC Köln (4:57) Regardless of what may happen the red wall stands behind you, does not move from your side, because it’s only here for you. Oh FC Kölle. A whole life for the club. - Eintracht Frankfurt (6:58, 10:33) Hey Eintracht Frankfurt Shalalalala lalalala (This is sung to the melody of the TV series „Pippi Longstocking“ based on the works of Astrid Lindgren, at the end of the second time „Louder“ is shouted) And as a bonus the one Dutch chant: Ajax Amsterdam (10:49): 90 minutes long, for our club from Amsterdam, madhouse on the tribunes, nobody can stop us.

As you said, fan culture in europe hasn't really changed over the last 2000 Years. Sports clubs always had their Ultra Fanclubs. In the Roman and Byzantine Empire it was Gladiator fights and Carriage races. But they went nuts too, once even instigating a revolution against the emperor with 10.000 dead.

Remember that before anyone in europe or anywhere else started singing at matches it was the UK supporters that were the first . Sorry but as far as passion in American fans go just forget it If you want to look at having a great time look up " Funny English supporters songs " and enjoy something you will never see in Canada or the USA because the supporters are too scared . For what is generally accepted is the best club supporters anthem in the world look at the preseason match in Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground ( MCG ) were Liverpool played a friendly to 95,000 supporters, it's said that of the local team supporters only 100 wore their team colours the rest wore Red . @andrewbragg504 I'm guessing you've never been to a hockey game in Canada either. My point was, compare the fans of the most popular sport vs. the most popular sport. There are 3 Canadian teams in MLS, so that's why hockey is a fair comparison to English football or American football fans. I've been to hockey, basketball, and soccer matches, and the MLS fans fail in comparison to the other 'established' fan bases.

Regardless of the sport, in the US such matches are more of a family event. In Europe, such events are much more violent, before, during and after, outside and inside the stadium. No one would ever think for a moment of taking their children there. Absurd... I watch American football very often, no chance of comparison with the audience. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Footbal in the UK and europe is a way of life, Im from the UK, here is some stats there are 92 professional teams in the UK There is said to be some 40k plus amtuer footbal teams in the uk, ranging from children through adults. There is also a huge growth in womens football, the main UK teams also having womens teams with there own league as well as national womens teams. England womens team won the european cup a little while ago, with a crowd of over 86k At the moment, there is also the womens world cup going on in australia We are a small island here in the UK, but have a passion for football, and supporting our teams. we in the UK dont really pick team to support, its in your blood the place you were born, whether team is top of the league or bottom, we support them for life.

0:30 more drunk? Are you sure? Awaydays at the footy starts when you get on the train at 7/8am and start drinking and finishes when you fall through the front door in the early hours of the following morning.

You should look at videos like "Best football fans in the world" or "Best football tifo's in the world". These videos comparing fans just isnt it. They're better to 'react to'-videos then this. Edit. Tifo video may be called something else, cant remember what its called but you can easily judge how much the fans love their club by just looking at what effort they put into the Tifo. Also, England is lame, they have banned tifo's. All from one accident in a stadium where many were killed. Instead of making the better upgrades, they instead banned both tifos and fans standing up.
