Fun Fact: I was with my Girlfriend in Hamburg to visit the Miniaturwunderland and her reaction was: „Well, I don‘t want to look at some stupid Modeltrains.“ I ignored her and take her in… And what happens? After eight hours in the Miniaturwunderland - close to the closing time - I had to grab her and push her through the exit. She didn‘t want to leave cause she had‘t seen it all… Anyway, the Gents who take us to the exit were the Braun Brothers - aka the founders of the Miniaturwunderland.

Got the same attitude from a woman during buying a Nintendo 3DS XL. The female cashier expected and asked me, that if I was buying it for my kid, but it was for me. 😂

5:00 "this is just dying to be a film" Actually, there IS a full length cinematic Film about the Wunderland. It was just released in German cinemas back in March 2024, just a few weeks ago.

I'm really not a huge fan of model railways, but i will visit the Wunderland in july with my family for the first time and i'm very excited about that. I've seen so many documentary on TV and youtube etc. I'm pretty sure it must be great. And Hamburg is a beautyfull city btw. Greetings from Germany.

I've been there several times and it really can't be described in words. So much detail...you'll probably need several days to really see it all. Unfortunately it is of course always very crowded, but still worth every second.

Good to know! Yeah, it's expected it is busy I suppose as it is world renowned. I would definitely go if given the chance.

Monaco will be opened on April 24th by Prince of Monaco himself. Not only Monaco, the palace and the casino is created in 1:87 scale. They have a fully functional Formular 1 racing in place. Each car runs independently and may overtake a slower car. Took them more than 10 years from first idea to the final version.

This is one of the coolest attractions in Hamburg. I used to go there very often back when I was a child. Even now, at 21, I go there once or twice a year.

Yea, Walt Disney created his Disney castle based on multiple castle impressions, for instance Neuschwanstein in Germany. The airplanes and cars follow electro magnetic stripes controlled by software.

Very nice, but it's worth looking at more recent videos about the Minitatur Wunderland. They are constantly adding new areas with cool features (like the Monaco race track, which is about to be be opened this week), so this five years old video is alread a bit outdated.

I don’t think they know but I was there at least twice a week back then but since I moved to Hanover, I can’t drive up to Hamburg all the time but I have a new tradition, whenever I go on a cruise that starts in Hamburg, me and my boyfriend are visiting the Wunderland cause it is a magical place for me. I’m thankful for my Boyfriend going there with me cause I know that he totally hates it, so it is kind of like a torture for him having to record everything every time we visit. I think I’m the most annoying boyfriend you can imagine but he is always happy when we get to the chocolate factory❤

Mace, if you come next year or the year after, the most parts of South America is finished. Already there is Rio de Janeiro, Patagonia, the Drake Bay and Antartica. The Miniatur Wunderland is now in 2 buildings with a glass bridge over a canal. The bridge was voted the best in 2024 by engineers, architects and experts for static. So it is safe to cross from Europe to South America. I have been, and will be many times to this marvel. I sincerely recommend it. Respectul greetings, Elmar from Germany

Remote controlled are only the boats in the real water basin. The trains and the cars (and planes) of the car system are controlled by software. Not just programmed schedules but fairly real simulations. Obeying traffic rules etc. Tomorrow the new section Monaco will open. With a race track where the race cars doing real races. The software determines an arbitrary start position and further parameters like "rubber grip" for each race car. Each race will differ from the others. Different technology than the car system. Which is not flexible and fast enough to simulate races. They worked 11 years on this new technology for the race track. Other actions are mostly fixed mechanics. Running permanently - like the dolphins and gondolas at 7:30. Or when a visitor is pressing one of these buttons.

I think the cars are moved by magnets from under the wooden plate.
@frankschrewe4302
@frankschrewe4302 6 ай бұрын
They are moved by a battery powered DC-motor, Start/Stop signals are given by infrared, and they keep their lane following a wire hidden in the road that is detected by a small magnet wich is used to turn the Front axle. The battery powered DC-motor ist the reason, why only Trucks are moving (at least until opening Monaco section - the Formular 1 cars use a completely new technique. They are equipped with small magnets and move by an electromagnetic grid intergrated into the track. The planes at the airport move the same way as the trucks do, as long as they are on the ground. For Takeoff and Landing they are connectet to poles lifting them up.
