Some are disgusted by oysters, nails, Frog legs, fish, crustaceans or pulpos. 🤷♂

It's a weird/strange delicatesse called 'mite-cheese'. The whole spider part is only on the English Wiki... and has nothing to do with the original German Wiki.
@danielw.2442Ай бұрын
Oh and I've never heard about it before. (never)

Mites are a subclass of arachnids (Spinnentiere), spiders are arachnids too, also scorpions and others belong to this class. So it is not completely wrong to call it spider cheese as spiders seems to be also common for arachnids.

It depends on which way you search in Wikipedia. 🙂 The special cheese mite "Tyrolichus casei", which produces the "Milbenkäse" has it's own German Wiki-article, it's even has more information as his English counterpart. But there is an English Wiki-article about cheese mites in general, as there are two other mite cheeses, produced in France (Cantal & Mimolette) which has no German counterpart.

It is rare. They make about 1,000 cheeses per year. It is a hobby for them.

LOL 😀 I like your face while you watch it.

It's kind of known that this exists, because we find it weird too. So it's on TV / in documentaries from time to time as a peculiar local thing. Never actually have seen the cheese though, or have been to any place that sells it.

Is a cheese covered in microscopic spiders vegetarian or not?
@UntilWeregoingАй бұрын
Hahah Good question
@red.aries1444Ай бұрын
When you eat the cheese together with the mites it's not vegetarian. If you clean the cheese and eat it without any mite it's lacto-ovo vegetarian. It's definitely not vegan as animals are used to produce it.
