Straight answer is NO simply because the rate of immigration far exceeds the inventory of AFFORDABLE homes available! There are many empty condos in cities like Toronto and Vancouver, that are priced beyond the reach of locals, let alone struggling immigrant students!

Unfortunately there is no “wake-up call” for Justin Trudeaus government. They are all true believers in their saviour Justin. In the end,we’re all just going to continue suffering until Canadians wake up and stop voting for LIBERALS. I’m a huge believer that Canada needs new Canadians from abroad,but not at the cost of Canadians (even new Canadians) that are already here. Our government is completely out of touch with reality.

If you understand demographics then our current immigration makes sense. We have a rapidly aging population, low birth rates and not enough young people to do the work and pay taxes for our system. The housing is lack of building inventory. Far too long we’ve allowed gatekeepers to leverage things like, the greenbelt to increase values of houses.
