Toast is the main way to eat/use vegemite. Toast then butter with light spread of vegemite is how we love it...

You took the right route with the toast, start small, its not a chocolate spread you can eat out of the jar. Best way is similar to peanut butter on toast (yet a lot less marmite/vegemite), where you make it as fast as possible, butter then the mite so it melts a bit on the still warm toast. Its not sweet, but salty.

I have been eating it everyday since filming, about two weeks, and I love it. Every Monday this month will be an Australian food, come back next week to see what I tried!

Good job finding all those Australian clips. The amount you used on the toast was typical. Probably a good starting point as a lot of people go way too hard then decide they dont like it. I go pretty heavy.😊

@AdventuresInSnacking I spent a lot of time looking for clips, I was hoping the vegimite commercials would be funny, but they aren't. I found a new love of kangaroo fights, I laughed the hardest at those.

@TalentlessCooking ah, yes. Every year or so, there's another viral video of a man punching a kangaroo. Those things can be crazy. The old "happy little vegemites" adds are more cheesy than funny.

I tried Vegemite 30-ish years ago, just a small bit on a cracker. That was enough for me! I remember a strong yeasty smell and an unpleasant taste like nothing I'd eaten before, like it was a cruel prank pulled on me.

@ChrisShadowens it's a lot like hot sauce or cilantro, if you do it wrong the first time, good chance that you will hate it. It's one of the few things that I think really needs butter.

haven't tried Marmite or Vegemite but would love too. have seen lots of video with people eating it. I would probably first try it like making a grilled sandwich with it. Hope you're having a great day, ty for the video

@Babygirl_in_bama marmite is much easier to get, you can probably order it through Walmart or Amazon without any markup. I think Vegemite is heavily marked up on Amazon, almost $50 from what I remember.
