The season just keeps getting better and better as it goes on, at a pretty consistent pace, right up until the end. It bodes well that you're already enjoying it this much! I'm jealous, if there's one single movie or show I wish I could go back and watch again for the first time it's without a doubt True Detective S1.

You have to wonder why Marty's daughter is drawing that stuff...she never really says where she got those ideas/images. She just says she did it because it made the other girls laugh. Also remember how the dolls were arranged (the barbies) last episode after Marty's daughters were playing with them.

This episode's "iconic moment" is not as magical as the previous two in the long run. When it's your first time seeing The Monster at the End, it's really cool and mysterious and creepy. But it's surpassed by what comes next :) Can't wait!

Your mother runs out on you, your father moves you to outback Alaska, your child is killed, your wife leaves, you see the worse mankind has to offer in your occupation...it is easy to become jaded and cynical.

Thanks, Oliver! Thanks, Huxley! 🔍 Since you described the meticulous nature of the show as "slow" (not being disparaging at all)... you may want to consider using terms like "patiently-paced" or "deliberately-paced" which don't have the negative connotation as the word "slow" carries.

Those are such laborious phrases. "Slow" is only as negative as you make it!

@@jerodast I merely offered a suggestion to avoid ire of the naysayers who hear the word "slow" and think negatively. I'm not one of those people, but I'm aware of them since I read a fair amount. And I'm of the disposition that finds beauty in what you deem laborious.

Marty (and many viewers) criticize Rust for his brutally realistic outlook, but who is really the better man? Who is more dedicated to being a public servant? Who is a huge hypocrite? It's like I always say to my friend every time she starts dating a new guy, anyone can say they are a good person -- judge them by what they actually do.

It's easy to be fooled by the fact that something is popular, then to make the mistake of thinking that must mean it is true. There's also the problem of assuming that because other people don't have an answer for why or how the universe came into being, "God" must have done it, and of course it's always the God they already believe in, not someone else's. Yet, they never seem to apply the same questioning to their God's existence; they just go with the cop-out answer, "He created himself" or "He was always there." Mental gymnastics and logical inconsistencies are rampant.
