@@stevenmitchell5319 , The biggest cost of an airline ticket goes to three things , fuel costs heavily taxed the use of terminals owned by the government and taxes on the tickets and travel itself . The fairs are lower in the US because they are not taxing the shit out of everything like Canada does I’m not defending the airlines , but all things considered the damn government in Canada is to blame for the high costs of airline travel in Canada .

I remember when Westjet first started flying. They beat out air cananda with price, service and convince. Over the last 10 plus years, they have turned into air canada. Overpriced, no service, and total inconvenience. The last time l flew with westjet l paid $20 for a snack that was spoiled, mouldy, and a flight attendant that suggested l eat around it. I would rather walk than ever board either of those airlines again.

I'm with you on this one. I fly to the East, and they don't even charge me for 2 pieces of luggage. And in the West, I have to pay through my nose. To charge for carry-on is a disgrace. What's next, they're going to ask us to travel naked?

Westjet weight machine at the airport is also tempered to show 2kg more than actual weight and charges extra, Recently, they changed $100 for 2 kg extra for my check-in bag for the bag, which was a 23kg check at home. We are going through the lowest point of Canadian life due to stupid, lethargic, and spineless political leaders who don't have balls to save Canadian from the monopoly of airlines, banks, food & phone companies.

Air Canada horrible. I traveled with my sister in law and her young son and she had a small bag type carry on and the attendant wouldn’t let her past the gate at time of boarding, meanwhile I passed with a larger carryon no problem. My sister in law explained she has her legal documents inside the bag from her ex husband allowing permission to travel with her son and her undergarments she’s not going to put it inside the planes cargo in case it gets lost or she’s asked as they’re legal documents for her son to travel with her. She asked them if they have a small bag she could at least put it inside . They said no, she took everything out of the bag and me , her and her son carried them in our hands into the plane and threw the empty carryon bag at them saying here put it inside the cargo now. We then put it inside my carryon afterwards meanwhile there was lots of vacant space in the overhead above our seats.

Hello, when will the Aviation minister wake up from the sleep. I would love to see the Canadians this time to take responsibility in choosing the government. Almost 50% of the salary is gone by some form of direct and indirect taxes and this is what we get in services from our minister's office. I would say Canada is moving in the path of 3rd world and developing nation. Government by the People- For the people is actually government for the crooks in the elected government who serve the corporates. Nothing is going well in this country, so big country, good economy and less people and still struggling.
