I gave him a second chance 15 years later and I don’t regret my decision. Years later he was my rock when I got a brain tumor being my voice when I couldn’t speak for myself. One mistake does not define a person it’s what they do after that mistake that does.

As an older couple, we had our moments the first few years and once we realized we wanted to do things together n we just needed to hash it out at 45 and 54 we got married last year (met im 2014) Crazy because we were not young but were stuck in our old young ways as we both had married young n our kids were grown but we hadn't grown emotionally. After a breakup there is only two reasons people stay friends. One because they love the other an didn't want it to end or two they never really loved each other in the first place. But then again.. I wholeheartedly agree w/you about one who cheats. My husband, (we are still legally married cuz I can't afford to file for divorce & he hasn't bothered to file either) he cheated on me after 12yrs of marriage. That was in 2017 & we haven't spoken ONE word at to each other since. I could NEVER trust him ever again. Once someone has cheated ALL trust is broken & w/out trust you can't have a relationship. You will never be able to fully trust that person ever again. Plus what they done is called betrayal. If you truly love someone, you will NEVER betray them.
