Hi Simon,some great memories from the 70s and 80s fishing Evans and Park. Do you remember old Surge who used to fish that beat? Back in the day it was mostly waggler and tip work l don’t think we had poles that would reach the far bank!

Nice video mate. My work landed me in the area in 1988, and we certainly enjoyed those days. Great memories.

Just discovered this series. Really well presented and full of useful information. I particularly enjoyed Simon's tutorial on whip fishing rivers, at which he's a master. Thanks.

Brilliant video. Good to see there's some quality fish still. I remember reading about Lady Capels in Dave Coster's Fishing Diary Annual. When I moved down to the area, I was excited to fish it. Needless to say, I went down there, and after a long walk with my gear, I blanked!

Thanks Tom 🙏 It looks like a cracking venue. We only filmed for a short time.

Great video on a natural venue , don't really get on with carp puddles.

Great video, the average pleasure angler does not have access to that many baits or can afford that many baits for one canal session

People like easy fishing thats why they choose commercials i feel like I'm going backwards in fishing when I fish them so will always fish canals. 👌👍

I couldn't agree with you more. For over 30 years I fished matches, mainly on canals, nine times out of ten, 4lbs would get you in the 'frame'. Then life got in the way and I moved to another part of the country and all but gave up fishing for 15 years, then I discovered a well thought of commercial fishery not too far away which had great facilities and an over 60s league. So I invested in a new set of gear suitable for commercials, read all I could about fishing them and gave it a go only to discover that it wasn't for me. It's not that I was adverse to bagging up, I'd done it often in many trips to Ireland and even with tench early morning on my local canal, but these were 'wild' fish which don't rely the anglers bait to prevent starvation! I don't doubt the skill of anglers who've made their name on commercials, it just ain't for me.

HI Simon great video and very informative. One thing I always ponder when arriving at canal side and looking at your approach in the video, what makes you take the liquidised bread and punch approach as opposed to a ground bait and pinkie approach? Or do you more often than not set up a line for each?
@siwifishing97222 жыл бұрын
Normally ground bait and pinkie further over but punch is a great way to start, you can also mix pinkies in with your punch and try them on the hook

Hi Simon. Great video. Nice to see you on natural waters. Did you use punch crumb or liquidised bread for the track? Steve
@siwifishing97222 жыл бұрын
Liquidised usually

Do you always fish punch off bottom on canals?
@siwifishing97222 жыл бұрын
Just off or just touching bottem👍

Hi simon can you tell me whereabouts you fish please and where can i park the car
@siwifishing97222 жыл бұрын
I live close to the cana but you can park in Langley way but it does have some restrictions otherwise in Cassiobury park main car park that has a 6 hour limit.
