Glad you told us the date Andy, gets confusing with the reruns you put up...which I watched again. Couple of nice wee Perch there. And I agree, don't advertise products if you don't get paid. Thanks for the vid. 😃

Hi DJ, it's simple with the videos, the old ones you won't receive any notifications, whereas with the new videos you should get a notification. I shall put the date on all of the new stuff and I've changed the format of the title as well. Even if I was sponsored I would rather just keep it about the fishing. Take care and tight lines and many thanks for re-watching the old stuff 👍😎

Hello nice video. Just curious if using a method/banjo feeder on a canal would be successful or not.
@boldersa2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Craig. To be honest I've not tried a banjo feeder on the canal but I have used a method feeder and have caught both bream and skimmers on it, I found that leaving the bait free worked better than encapsulating it in with the groundbait or micros. A 4"-5" hooklength works best for me but a shorter of longer may work better. Give it a go when it warms up a bit. Tight lines for your next trip out 👍

Really good video again Andrew ive watched a few now and enjoy them a lot. I'm new to coarse fishing (i normally pike fish) and have just got myself a match rod and reel for canal float fishing (waggler). Ive had 3 sessions in the last 2 weeks and have really been struggling to attract any fish into my swims. Ive built up the swims with groundbait and tried various baits and (Maggot, bread corn) on different hook sizes from 12 to 18 and still nothing. I have caught plenty roach and perch in the summer months but im having no luck whatsoever having tried different baits at different depths in a couple of different swims each day on varous parts of the canal. Do you have any pointers or ideas as to why the fish aren't biting?, as im pretty stumped!!

Hi Paul Many thanks for the kind words. If you are fishing the waggler, try fishing at the end of the rod, I will send you a video to show you what I mean. Start with an 18 hook to a 0.14 (2lb) hook length. Either try loose feeding first and then put a small ball of groundbait in if nothing happens, or put a small ball of groundbait in and loose feeding 6 - 10 maggots over it every 30 mins. I hope that helps, I'll send the video link. Keep trying.

@Adrenaline-Rush That would be much appreciated buddy. Going by your advice it may be that I may be over feeding the swims. I'm also fishing at distance as well so I'll scale everything right down next time and try close in. ( I tend to fish the opposite side to the busy towpath) but I'll fish closer to the bank next time and will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

Hi mate what rod are you using?
@boldersa11 ай бұрын
Hi, it one of the drennan red range of rods. A 10' carp feeder with a 1oz tip in. I hope that helps. Tight lines for your next trip out 🤞

@@boldersa what rods would recommend for canal feeder fishing?
@boldersa11 ай бұрын
Any 9' or 10' rod with a nice soft action that's takes tips in the 1 - 1.5oz range. You dont have to cast very far, and the soft action is better for cushioning the strike.

Would the guru a class be good it's got a 1 ounce tip

I should think so 👍

I was enjoying this until you put the perch in with roach. Shame
@boldersa Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I have never seen any scientific evidence that putting perch and roach together in a keepnet does them any harm, but if you have any or know of any I would be very interested in reading it, and if it was proven to be the case I certainly wouldn't do it in the future. Tight lines for your next trip out and thanks for taking the time to comment 👍😎

I used to fish matches and used to put perch , roach and other species into the same net , no problems at all
