I recently took this trip and the Skipper was the most charming and handsome fellow I have ever encountered. A proper sauce pot, he got me all flustered and as soused as a flannel in New Orleans. My clitermoose was so engorged, it looked like my skirt was hitchhiking to Monterey. What a unit, oh golly, oh gosh. Highly recommend gals.

It looks so beautiful! I believe the boat to the right of the parked waterbus was the one that my husband and I were going to stay on next month. We had a trip planned from the US; RYA course, boat hire, and the stay in Little Venice. With the numbers starting to rise in UK (covid) we felt that the safest thing to do would be to postpone the trip, but we're pretty sad about it. Thanks for the video, as it was a glimpse into what will be waiting for us when things really start to get better. Stay safe!

What a great boat trip! Thanks for sharing. When I was living in London I would walk that section of canal from Camden back to my flat in Westbourne Park. It sure brings back memories!

A lovely trip, beautifully filmed and narrated as always, and reminds me it’s been decades since we took this ride so must put it on the list for our next trip to the UK. Our last visit in 2019 we walked from near Kings Cross Station (I think) beside the canal to Camden where repairs to the towpath thwarted us and as it was getting late in the day anyway we diverted ‘topside’.

Thanks Lorna! It is always fascinating, the variety of videos people can make about canals! If ever I get to London again (and I really plan on doing so) I will remember taking a trip on a barge.

I might just have to take a trip on the Waterbus. Last time I went to Little Venice nothing was moving due to Covid, but can’t believe how easy it is to get from Paddington Station. Will look it up. Cheers ❤️

So random comment , I just introduced the classic Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory to a new generation of children and I think it would be awesome if the was a narrowboat daytripper designed like the Wonkatina boat someplace along the CRT…. Maybe someplace where part of the canal twists and turns through a arboretum and botanical garden with a special area devoted to the candy room …. Sorry just my random musings on how to up the tourist appeal to the CRT ….. I can’t remember the video but I think I remember a cruise past the Cadbury plants?

Yes! This will be my next career move. I’ll be Willy. It’s such a good film and it would be great with a narrowboat

@@lornajaneadventures and I must point out…. I’m am not talking about the SEAHORSE boat from the Charlie remake movie …. I’m looking at the picture now and if you took a 40 footer gave it a the high sculpted bow of the boat , followed by an open deck wheel house and a little starboard side perch where Wonka sits , the three rows of covered seats , the fake paddle wheel and then hide within the remain bits of the boats a muffled diesel electric propulsion and steering system with bow thrusters …. As I said you could fit all that in a 40 foot boat with ease and an even longer craft you could fit several more rows of seats and preserve the image.

Interesting origin to the term Toerag. It isn't used here in Oz, so I haven't heard it for decades. Some of the boat vloggers are giving up and selling their boats, are you next?
@t1n44442 жыл бұрын
Excellent stuff! And a real teaser for future ventures. Now, will you be doing your own tour with CC behind the lens? IIRC David mentioned a joint venture doing something similar??? Just because he's going ashore doesn't mean he's forgotten how to film. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Great vlog and trip. Really fascinating seeing all the different boats. How on earth does that Chinese restaurant boat float ! Best wishes
@t1n44442 жыл бұрын
You can blame Archimedes for inventing buoyancy. Him and his flippin' "principles" all over the place going around philopharsizing all day long. Before that boats just floated because they were made of wood. Everyone knows that. We were alright before he invented baths and bathing and shouting out Greek stuff! That's the trouble with natural philosophers, always inventing something or other; he ought to have had a proper job ... had too much time on his hands! The government makes you learn this stuff at school ... it's bad enough just trying to keep up on social media without having to learn stuff as well as. I believe I type for us all.
