Seems like there are more nature segments in this video, the scenery's very pretty throughout. Thanks for showing the birds and the night sky! The route tracker was a cool visualization and definitely makes your path easier to follow

It's a great follow on from part 2 and well done for taking on the advice about showing the route. I use relive which is very easy but I'll definitely check out GPX Replay software. It's great footage to work out to and explore future bike riding opportunities so thank you.

Did you notice your riding buddy disappeared? Perhaps she wasn't so keen being followed for such a long time. Nice breezy production. A look at the bike and setup would have helpful. I'm curious where you stayed. Thanks for the effort.

No worries, no one was lost! Re: the bike, there is nothing special going on there. It's very old and I got it second hand. The two panniers on the back are worth more than the entire rest of it. The camping equipment was from Decathlon. Re: where to stay, it was a mix of camping and last-minute booking.com reservations depending on weather and feeling. The way passes enough civilization that there was no concern we would be stranded at night.

Nice ride!... What kind of bicycle are you traveling with?! Looks very comfy! France is beautiful! That straight cloud is probably a con-trail... very common! Some foil-hats call 'em Chem-trails... Salute!

I bought it from a used bike shop in the Netherlands, though I can't even find this specific version of Gazelle Xanta anywhere online so it must be pretty old. Very heavy and it has high resistance in the drivetrain but that's just more fitness for me.

Happy New Years Peter. This is Patrick & Hilary from the greater Washington DC Metro area. We are planning a Eurovelo 6 ride this year 2024 in the Fall. We have a lot of questions about the logistics. The biggest question is whether we should ship our bikes from the USA, rent a bike in Europe, buy a beater bike in Europe? As far as logistics, should we start in Basel or east/west of that location? Do you have any recomendations on airports considering that we want to start near Basel? When you reached the end of your tour how did you return with your bicycle? Did you make your lodging reservations ahead of time or figure it out on the fly? We are leaning towards not making a hard itinerary. Thanks

there’s going to be plenty of people going in both directions! Fall would be a great time to take the trip. I did it on a beater bike but a nice bike would let you cover distance more easily. I’m not familiar with bike shipping logistics, but I remember the channel Ryan van Duzer did a packing guide for his trip to Sweden that might give some useful info. For lodging, when not camping, I booked either morning of or day before and didn’t have issues. If going to camp site you can just show up. I also have a Google maps list of all camping spots that I can share (note some might have closed, so double check) I was living in the Netherlands for study so I took trains home. re: airports, Geneva and Zurich are the biggest in Switzerland. Both have super easy train access and you can take full bikes on board to Basel.
