I appreciated the intro and comparison to the other tools - I have used all 4 other tools on your list (from Zapier to Lambda) - this helped convince me to try trigger (I use Supabase too and love it - so that was a plus too). Having just recently set-up n8n in docker, I was not ready to dive into that again. I instead did a quick set-up of trigger using the cloud option. I would think most people would start there - just to get a sense of its strengths and how to use it. Like someone else noted - it is all js/typescript - so that is something to consider with a tool like this - I write mainly in python. Keep up the videos in this area and with trigger specifically. Would like to see what you build with it.

We can’t swap automation platform every 3 days. n8n is open source enough for me and I have a self-hosted instance running on Render. Basically unlimited automations for 7 usd a month.

@@SebKrogh Ya Ik what you mean, n8n is great, and if you’re not running into any things you can’t do then it’s perfect. I’m still using it like I mentioned but I think this could be something for specific workflows and automations that need more customization. Also for things involving actually applications. I still plan on using both. I think they just have different use cases and pros and cons, will be making for vids on both tools. thanks for watching

@sebkrogh how can you do manage 7 dolar? do you only pay for render ? and free plan in n8n ?

can we run big workflow on Render free plan?
@SebKrogh3 ай бұрын
@@MaskManReactions2025yes but it has no memory - so when you restart the server it's boom gone. But if you can't afford 7 usd for unlimited automations - this ain't the game for you.

@@SebKrogh Yes but render gives 1 GB SSD for storage also if connect to superbase maybe it will work as superbase will used to to store crednetials. I meant if worlkflow have live 50 nodes that 512 MB ram is enough to run that?

N8N is not open source It's "fair code" licenced You can use N8N internally in your company but you can't sell N8N to your client without the permission of N8N
@mrdeveloper9690Ай бұрын
yes ... there is free open source alternatives that you can use for commercial use like activepieces and node-red ..

Thank you. I have a question, do coolify and trigger need to be on the same vps? Or can be different?

How did you make that awesome document? Plz I must know, have been struggling to make even a descent table on google docs which seems so spartan. Keep up the awesome content.

Trigger seems to me, more comparable to Ansible and Lambda..less to Zappier , make and n8n
@joshfpocock3 ай бұрын
@@sergeziehi4816 Yeah, you are right in a sense, I will still use n8n for no code and since this requires some coding it’s a little different

When I looked at Trigger, it didn’t support python. Is that still true?

Wonder-fuel. Great solution. I was just going to dive into MAKE, used the free option and thought it was good, for a simple article-publishing and Ai-origin check process, (for my level), but I will check out N&N, and Trigger.
@joshfpocock3 ай бұрын
@@Sammyli99 Awesome glad you got some value:) Yeah if you’re starting out n8n is really good for no code and trigger is a little more advanced but I definitely think n8n over make.com + it’s free if you self host other than VPS. I will make more n8n vids and have some showing how to self host in description here
