This could be a cultural thing too as far as their bluntness in getting to the point I'm a sign language interpreter and I work with the Deaf community and often it's a cultural trait they do not beat around the bush engage in pleasantries they get to the point and sometimes bluntly which can cause hurt feelings if you're not aware that the fact that that's a cultural thing it's not meant to be a hurtful thing it's just a different cultural trait.
